Headrest Rattle ('21 LC 200) (1 Viewer)

Hi Everyone,

I'm new to the site so I apologize if I'm posting my question/concern in the wrong area - still figuring things out.

My spouse and I recently picked up two 2021 LC 200s, and we noticed right away that the front driver and passenger headrests have a pretty awful rattle. The rattle gets much worse as the headrest goes up, but some rattling can still be heard when the headrest is completely down. I was thinking the issue was unique to my vehicle until my spouse's vehicle arrived and started rattling as well. I'm debating on whether or not to take them to the dealership, but since this seems to be a common issue I'm not sure what all they can do.

I'm reaching out to see if anyone else has experienced this issue (I've seen other posts related to seat rattles and some rattling on older LC 200 models), and I'm wondering if anyone has come up with a solution.

I have mild rattle in passenger...I leave them down. if bad then maybe ask dealer to see if tires are out of balance (doubtful).

My 2015 has some of the rattle. My 2021 is silent, but not enough miles to tell definitely.

Has anyone tried wrapping a thin layer of tape around the “legs” of the headrest?

I bet electrical tape would solve your issue.

BUT you don’t want to compromise the active headrest safety feature.

I have the same issue with my front passenger on my ‘19. It rattles when up a notch or two. I never notice when someone is in the seat but when I’m a solo driver, it’s a little annoying so I push it down. I hate rattles and squeaks. I have considered getting a Range Rover because they are dead quiet, especially when your waiting for a flatbed.

hmmmm, that’s what that is. Picked up a ‘21 a few weeks ago and been trying to figure out where the heck that rattle has been coming from.

I had this issue too. Then I attached a headrest bracket and mounted a screen to it. That incidentally eliminated the rattle.

+1 - I thought I was going crazy! Lowering the headrest helped when unoccupied. No issue when up when occupied. Here’s my ‘21...

Question if anyone noticed that on 21. I had 16 and the 20 LC and have not noticed that before. Just have 100 miles on my truck but noticed when accelerating and more pressure is put with my body on the back of the seat feels like something is making a pop or shifts inside back of the driver seat. Have anyone notice that?

My 2020 with less than 3.5k miles started making some rattling noise when driving over bumps. I'm not 100% sure if its the passenger headrest yet but its def coming from front or rear passenger side. Also congrats on the 2 new landcruisers, that garage picture is awesome!
