I tested the headlight washers on my new to me 2008 and watched the sprayer cap shoot about 30' into the air followed by a stream of washer fluid. It looks the the previous owner or shady dealer broke them and tried to glue the bumper cap and sprayer back together. Does anyone have a schematic or parts list of what's involved? Other than being really entertaining to be able to spray cars in front of you it sucks to have something broken on the new baby; does anyone have any ideas on the best way to fix this? Here are some pics.

. . . it sucks to have something broken on the new baby . . .

I sure agree with this! I have a few of these types of PO issues on my '08!

Can you get behind it and pull the whole mess down? Then just buy some new parts!

:-)

I'll give it a shot today and report back. I was hoping someone could share the service manual page dealing with the sprayers just so I could see how they work. What makes them pop up and out of the bumpers, just the washer fluid pressure?

Alright, I dove into this today. The washer sprayer mechanically pops up. I cleaned the glue off of both the painted cap piece and the actual sprayer. It was obvious that whomever tried to glue this back together used the wrong type of adhesive for the application - it came off very easy. I could probably glue the cap piece back into the sprayer with a better epoxy but it looks like the sprayer itself is completely unharmed and simply needs a cover piece that mates with it that has not been broken. The piece is less than $15 so I'm just going to order a new one and see if it snaps in place.

If you need any pics of the back of the mechanism behind the bumper let me know, mine is intact in the garage.
@Archtaan That would be awesome. Please snap a shot for me.

I would get more use out of spraying slow pokes in front me than spraying my headlights

Here you go bud. It looks to me like you need to replace the whole insert(pop out part). It connects at the bottom of the washer system where you see the white 90* elbow.

Thank you so much for the photos. It definitely explains it.
