hello everyone

i have a 2006 landcruiser V8

and its a manual

and i was wondering, are there any headers available for it out there ?

what side of the car do you steer from? You have Doug thorley headers. I'm not 100% sure they will fit on a RHD if that is where you sit.

I thought the consensus was that the DT headers would not work on a VVT-i equipped 100 series?

i heard the headers from the tundra might fit ... i mean the 2004 model

It's been tried. They did not fit. Sorry to say this but I'm afraid you are stuck with the stock setup. You can always do a high flow cat and different muffler. Going to a 2.5" exhaust system would help. The 06+ already has headers.

They do fit the '06/'07 vvt-i 4.7L V-8. The compatibility problem is that the '06/'07 vvt-i 4.7L V-8 exhaust manifold uses an air injection system that has additional air injection tubes that need to connect to air injection ports on the exhaust manifold. The DT Headers were designed for the '98-'05 4.7L V-8 that did not have the air injection exhaust manifold system and therefore no air injection ports were incorporated in to the header design. Toyota also redesigned the exhaust manifold on the '06+ to be a lower resistence and more "header-like" in the the way each port sweeps and flows together. This helps avoid the high resistence right angle F-shaped design of the earlier year's manifold and is speculated to be one of the reasons for the 50+ HP increase the '06 vvt-i gained over the '05. I'd like to know if a DT Header redesign could tweak this even more or not. A high flow cat and a straighter less resistive 2.5" exhaust system would definitely help. A lot cheaper than buying a new 2011 LC engine and retro fitting.

5.7-Liter DOHC 32-Valve V8 with Dual Independent Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (VVT-i); 381 hp @ 5600 rpm; 401 lb.-ft. @ 3600 rpm

Although that would be sweet!!

First sentence typo? They do not fit the '06/'07 vvt-i 2UZ-FE.

I think he was saying that they fit, but that they do not work, due to the missing injection port piece.
Or at least that is how i read it.

I'm not quite sure what you mean. What is your definition of fit? The DT Headers that I received fit the stud pattern and the gasket for my 2006 LC. Thats as far as I got. Its the air injection that the compatibility problem.

Correct. You can't say they fit if they don't. So they kinda fit? Sr. Gringo reported the DT headers are not compatible with '06 and '07 engines due to the interference with the air injection ports. And its not like you can remove the air injectors.

They mount up but can't clear components, so it's safe to say they fit but they don't fit.
