Just needed to share...
Had my Doug Thorley short headers installed today...Finally...they have been sitting in the garage for almost 4 years and were supposed to be on my '08 LC.

The shop that did it said it was a pain for anyone with big hands...really tight to get in.

There is no difference in the sound, maybe just a touch louder, but not really noticeable. This is probably because the cats, muffler and resonator are all stock for now. Where there is a difference is in power. It all of a sudden feels like there is no hesitation, maybe because the ease up in back pressure, and the truck just wants to go. Interestingly, it didn't automatically down shift going into a turn. Can't be sure what gains are torque and hp wise, but there has to be something.

Cats are gonna stay. I may do a new muffler and remove the resonator, but not sure when. The headers have added a little punch, without all the noise. I'm happy with it.

LC200 has 4 cats.. first 2 have the sensors, back 2 no sensors. I removed the back 2, and it did not mess with the sound or create any drone.

It passed the wife test.

Shorty headers is a good idea for this engine.. but in my view air intake is really restricted. I made a home version of intake by cutting a 4" x 4" square at the bottom of my air box and adding K&N. Beautiful growl sound and once it hits Vvti.. truck pulls nicely.

I would love to add more power to this thing.. but brakes are not in par to the engine power.

Bigger brake kit, like the Tundra, make a huge difference.

With the back 2 cats removed, does it restrict it from passing emissions? I would love to rebuild from the shorty headers back some day.

Motor has tons of power and pull with the headers...its almost like its constant, without hesitation.

How hard is the conversion to the Tundra breaks?
Is it a str8 bolt on?
Appreciate any advice

The LC will not throw any codes with the second set of converters removed. If warmed up, it should pass a sniffer test. Obviously, it won't pass a visual inspection, so some dummy resonators that look like converters should be installed in their place. After the shorty headers, the pipe between them (headers) and the first converter is a bit of a restriction, but does provide nice low end torque.

The Tundra brakes bolt on, but a few machining mods are required to some of the various parts. I have a kit available, drop me note if interested.
