Wow, looks like a wicked place to work on trucks! What's normally in there? Judging by the doors I'd guess big rigs (or trains!)

We fabricate alot of large stuff, but we have been doing large acoustical enclosure buildings for 1000hp + generators.

For the record, see in the first picture the different position of the torsion bar cross member, difference is 2" depending if you have a A442 or a A343.

There goes my hope for no fabrication!

I don't think there as ever been a UZJ with a A442 so moving those part on the frame is a must for anyone looking at this swap. With such a tight space between the body and the frame you have no choice to pull out the frame to do a good job.

On the hold frame we cut the main frame, then you grind until the main frame plate separate from the cross member. So we end up with a clean nice cross member. On the Good frame we cut the cross member then grind up what ever is left on the frame.

The Australian 4sp UZJ100's might use the a442. Would have to look into that.

Yeah and toyodiy reports both A343 and A442 for a HDJ100 so maybe earlier HDJ100 got the A343...Would be ideal for a swap in a US UZJ100.

I could probably have change tranny and install the A343 on the 1HD-FTE, but i didn't want to mess up the electronics....

Also, I've only seen aftermarket t-bars with two options: turbo diesel and gasser. So, I thought all TD's got the longer T-bars and all gasser 100's got the shorter T-bars without regard to the transmission. But I haven't confirmed it.

I can tell you that short t-Bars won't fit on a truck with A442. The crossmember for the T-bars is further back to accomodate the Size of the A442.

Maybe the combination UZ/442 and HD/343 fill the space in a different way than the 2 combinations you have...
OZ also have manual transmission with UZ.
IIRC, Euro 4sp auto HDJ100s have been delivered with 442 only.

Tomorrow we flip the frame and it is going to get a other coat of epoxy. Monday morning we start to put it back up together.

DUAL A/C

i've been searching through toyodiy and manage to find schematic of the piping for different LC100 A/C options.

I didn't know but from toyodiy, a option existed for cool box, front AND REAR! isn't that cool (like in fun) there as to be a place on this planet where you can drink and drive. The front cool box is the front armrest in between seats. And the rear is located in the trunk inside rear fender. So all the options are as follow,

- V8 Dual Air
- 1HD Single air
- 1HD Dual air
- 1HD Single air with cool box (front and rear)
- 1HD Dual air with cool box (front and rear)

Here is V8 Dual air dia and 1HD single air (both of my current truck)

Now 1HD-FTE dual air and 1HD-FTE Dual air with coolbox.

So i'm looking for
- 1x 88717C
- 1x 88716E-6A840
- 1x 88716J
- 1x 88716K

For some reason toyodiy does not report the second series of numbers of the part number on 3 items, and under them it says (NOT APPLICABLE). Would that means it was intended but never manufacturered, thus not available? If so why one of the item part number is complete!

Very cool options. You're going to give twinotter600 and his diesel Nissan coolbox some competition ;)

Those numbers are actually the "PNC"s, not real part numbers. Toyota part numbers are either 10 or 12 digits (12345-67890 or 12345-67890-EE). PNC are standard codes that let you look up parts faster in an EPC without having to flip through a bunch of parts drawings (that's what I used them for anyway).

Not Applicable usually means that the option in question was not available on that particular model/trim package or for that model year. Try selecting the top of the line model (VX or VXL?) or a different model year and see if the numbers come up. Which country/model/years are you looking up?

Now 1HD-FTE dual air and 1HD-FTE Dual air with coolbox.

So i'm looking for
- 1x 88717C = cooler refrigerant suction pipe C: 88717-6A170
- 1x 88716E-6A840 = cooler refrigerant liquid pipe E (to cooler unit): 88716-6A840
- 1x 88716J = cooler refrigerant liquid pipe J: 88726-60550
- 1x 88716K = cooler refrigerant liquid pipe K: 88726-60600

From ToyoDIY for a 2002 TOYOTA LAND CRUISER (HDJ100L-GNPEZW) VX EUR LHD 1HDFTE ATM 4FC

Not sure where you are looking at getting these from, but I've been emailing back and forth with Cheap Toyota Parts with good service thus far. I haven't purchased anything from them yet, but prices seem pretty competitive.

Looking up earlier models i found the same complet part numbers!

But here is the Problem, the compressor on a 1HD-FTE single air and dual are not the same, I wonder what are the difference.

88320-60700 for single air (the one i have)
88320-60720 for dual air

- 1x 88717C = cooler refrigerant suction pipe C: 88717-6A170
- 1x 88716E-6A840 = cooler refrigerant liquid pipe E (to cooler unit): 88716-6A840

- 1x 88716K = cooler refrigerant liquid pipe K: 88726-60600

I would guess the difference would be size/capacity. There is only 1 rebuild kit listed for both compressors, but the front plate of the compressor, the "cooler compressor cylinder head", has two different part numbers (single vs dual AC), as do the 5 bolts that hold it on (and the dual AC bolts are significantly more expensive, so possibly longer/bigger?).

Maybe you could just buy the cylinder head and 5 bolts and swap it out on the current compressor?

So the only difference from a single or dual compressor are the heads, and that would be the capacity? If it is only the capacity i don't see why i shouldn't try to hook up dual setup to a single air compressor? It is not like i live in Florida or that the rear AC will be running to the max.

Seing that only the head are different and toyodiy report cost to 50 or so Euro, i'll go ahead and get the piping for the dual setup.
