Buy a kit from a vendor that includes Marlin seals. it's an arduous job that you don't want to do twice.

x3,274 on Cruiser Outfitters or George with the marlin seals

did you end up doing this job? Axle on or off when you did it? All the vids I see has the axle sitting on stands.

Cruiser outfitters is a no-brainer on this one, imho. Extremely competitive prices and incredible customer service.

Paper towels, and more paper towels, then get some more. And just when you think you've got too many, grab one more roll. I put my '80 up on stands and then put painters plastic down on the garage floor underneath the entire front of the cruiser. Then when I was done I just rolled the plastic up with all of the trash and nastiness in it and threw it in the garbage.

I also did my birf's at the same time, and kept a bucket of gas and threw parts in there to clean then up.

Gloves?..paper towels?... don't your wives buy nice towels? Personally I like the fluffy white ones

An acceptable answer if you're single.

Or would like to be.......

If the kit seems a bit overwhelming and scary just buy al the parts one by one.

notin to do.webp

I bought my kit from Cruiser outfitters and it worked great. I was able to do the job in a couple of days. And yes, rags, rags and more rags!
