In the spring I ran into the problem that my wife and I could not lift the roof tent on the roof of the car, and the neighbor was not home! We have no buildings that can be used as lifting equipment, so the solution was to build a "forest winch" for the garden tractor (you always need that  ) and an fly jib was made for the engine crane.

I got a repair pice from Belgium, but it didn't have the greatest fit... and the top part I needed wasn't there, so that had to be hand made

I had to slip the floor in the big workshop before I could start grinding :p

New and fresh day, ready to do cut out in the repair pice and prepare it for the window frame... when it is fully welded it equals 3200mm or 126 inches of welding seam

I was answering a general question someone else asked if you had a hand brake on your transfer case. Obviously being a five speed it wouldn't. 8/80+ all shift and mid wheel base 40 series had the hand brake on the rear axle.

So is Denmark different than other countries in Europe that are making it very expensive to drive an early diesel? Seen a number of HJ61s being parted out because they can no longer afford the fees to register them. Full floating rear axle and cable lockers were never sold in the US making if more desirable to part them out.
ah makes sense.
My plan is to have it approved as a veteran car, that helps a bit, but it is still expensive. In June 1998 a new rule was made in Denmark making cars registered after this date VERY expensive, so they will soon die out.

If you reach this point you are now up to date past 8-9 years work...
Thanks for sharing. Nice to see another BJ42 build, hope mine project will finish sooner (3 years is gone now).

Awesome work @Hauge . Really awesome!👍🎯👍

These project just take time :) Cool you got a project to, we need to keep these cars on the street.

Nice job! Thanks. I like what you did with the fuel tank straps. I just made a pair for my '82 FJ40 as one had completely rusted though and broke. What gauge stainless did you use on yours? I used 16 gauge, which seems plenty strong enough. Also, what are the brackets on the bottom for? Mine didn't have any such brackets.
