Has anybody mounted a rechargeable flashlight in the 100?

My flashlight is somewhere in my center console. Don't think I need to quick draw a flash light. But it is a nifty idea and may give me something to do while I'm bored over Spring Break.

Huh?.....

I don't understand. Are the seats a delayed switch? Does that mean they do not have 12v under them all the time? Are you suggesting I find a "delayed switch"? I used the search function to study "delayed switch" and didn't produce anything. Can you elaborate? Any help would be highly appreciated.

I am a fair mechanic but far from electrician. Thats why I still have the factory stereo setup in this truck. I am scared of the whole wiring thing.

You said/asked are the seats always hot or are they switched somehow? I said Delayed Switch. Simple...there's a delay from when you turn the key to the OFF position before the relay/switch/whathaveyou turns them "off".

Thanks for clarifying. Mine is a 2001. I don't know if that makes a difference but whether the key is in or not, I can move the drivers seat forward and backward. After I read your post, I went outside to make sure and did not put the key in and moved the drivers seat. The key had not been in for 8 hours or so.

I am not trying to be difficult. I just don't understand a lot about electrical and am wondering if I can wire the flashlight to the seat switch somehow to have "always on" power.

My truck never sits for more than a day so I am not worried about draining the battery.

I don't really need a quickdraw flashlight either. I was merely stating that, with a Streamlight Stinger DS LED, it takes up too much space in the opening of the center console to put it there IMO. Robreds looked great but the Pelican charger must be "thinner". Where I did choose to put it is still very handy for the driver.

Once you open the door, it turns it back on.

Now I am with you. I am the same guy that use to think the light stayed on in the refrigerator. I'm on the same page with you now.

I used to close the door very slowly while looking inside at very strange angles seeing if the light stayed on or not. I finally got pissed off, emptied everything out and got inside

yep. it shut off
