Does this look better? Tomorrow I start building motor mounts again - unfortunately the 4 frame brackets I made are now scrap...

Best part about posting progress, you will get some darn good advice.

Starting to come together, nice how flat your atlas sits, nothing much hanging down.

I need to come by and see the progress (and have a Shiner). Looking good!

Yeah - saw it. How long did the Orion take to become a production case? Call me - It would be great to see you! As stated before - I've got the LSLC kegerator ;) ;) ;)

As far as progress - I'm on hold until I can put the front axle in. I've got the engine so far down that I'm afraid that the oil pan will hit the front axle or the tie rod. The front of the oil pan is below the frame rails. May need to move it back or up.

NO!!! Damn - I'm thinking maybe I should go back to coarse splined birfields instead... This must be his way of getting back at me for the Grogan Port-a-potty post.

You sir are correct. I was telling myself that the other night while I was tearing it back apart. I will have a much better solution in the end and that will be due to everyones input. I honestly appreciate it.

The skid plate will be completely flat from frame rail to frame rail! :D :D

Georg, Thanks! Got the goodies. tomorrow - I begin again... Getting the Atlas in, took a lot of tries and a little beating on the passenger's side floor but it tucks up nicely in the 81 tub.

Mace - I'm actually a bit concerned about your response...

All caught up.

Sweet fabbin on the engine mounts...

OK! Got some work done today!!

Engine is back out - Got to work on Georg's googie package (Thanks!) "Finessed" the 700R4 dust cover to fit the TBI rear main bearing/oil pan. Installed the new fly wheel (with the correct bolt pattern) hope summit will take the other one back... Engine and tranny are final assembled. Need some silicone to seal up the unused holes on the Atlas and adapter and I'll slap it back on.

Actually I started making room for my "new" 609 front axle

One axle ready to head to Atlanta!

Ready to slide the new one in... Tomorrow I'll head to Sunray and pick up the 609 and hopefully the housing for my 9"rear :D maybe even some wheels and tires...

looking good bruce. you going to come back out to johnsen valley again after its back together someday?

chris

Hey Chris,

I'd love to. I kind of feel like I did not get to run everything I wanted. But - thanks to you guys I got to run a lot!! That trip was the catalyst for this build.

The only problem is the drive - We'll see - maybe Grogan and I might load up the Gooseneck and just take one truck...
