I got a bit of a wiring mess up front but at least the sheet metal is back together!

Santa showed up!

I'm preparing to start the motor. In preparation for that, I want to clean out the fuel system. There is half a tank of really old fuel that I'd like to get rid of. So, starting at the . . . .

Fuel tank: I'd like to disconnect the filler neck and the fuel line to the engine, pull the tank out and empty it. Any tips for this? Anything to watch out for? I'm specifically concerned that I might somehow damage the original fuel line connection at the tank. But maybe I'd be better off with all new fuel lines, anyway? What do you think?

Line from fuel pump up to the carb: This line has one of those in line filters (not OEM) in it. Maybe better if I get rid of it? I like the idea of all hard lines up near the hot manifold. What do you guys think?

Does anyone know if I can even get replacement OEM fuel lines?

I'm taking a few minutes to post here about @Racer65 - Their website www.cityracerllc.com is easy to use and easy to search to find what you need. Checkout is quick and easy. And their package tracking is the best I have ever seen anywhere. They show you a map that is updated constantly and shows where your package is. You can follow the progress of your package literally hour by hour! They are a top-flight vendor, in my opinion. Kudos to @Racer65.

I also want to give a plug for @cruiseroutfit. These guys have the goods and they deliver! Quick phone call, place the order with Bryce, get an almost immediate email confirmation, and a day or two later, the goods are in my hand. It's parts procurement the way it oughtta be! Gotta love Cruiser Outfitters @cruiseroutfit !!

The switch in the top photo came from the hole near the cig lighter in the bottom photo. It was snipped off behind the dash just as you see it. What is this switch for?

I believe on my 4/71 that Hole is for my dome light switch the wire on the switch does not look like OEM.

Thanks. I thought the ceiling light had a switch right on the light itself. But I must be wrong about that.

I'm thinking maybe the later years, not sure tho some else might chime in. The body of your switch looks big but it might be the picture. I'll look at an extra switch I have in the morning to see if it looks like yours.

Found this tucked up under the dash. I think these wires (they're about 6' long) used to go to the rear heater.

Should I get new fuel lines? Or stick with what I have?

This is the hard line from the fuel pump to the carb. Bummed that there's a cut in filter. Does anyone know if I can buy this line new?
