I'm preparing to start the motor. In preparation for that, I want to clean out the fuel system. There is half a tank of really old fuel that I'd like to get rid of. So, starting at the . . . .
Fuel tank: I'd like to disconnect the filler neck and the fuel line to the engine, pull the tank out and empty it. Any tips for this? Anything to watch out for? I'm specifically concerned that I might somehow damage the original fuel line connection at the tank. But maybe I'd be better off with all new fuel lines, anyway? What do you think?
Line from fuel pump up to the carb: This line has one of those in line filters (not OEM) in it. Maybe better if I get rid of it? I like the idea of all hard lines up near the hot manifold. What do you guys think?
Does anyone know if I can even get replacement OEM fuel lines?
