Sorry 'bout that. I was typing with my thumbs last night on my iPhone.

LINK to the Southeast Overland WEB STORE.
LINK to the Recovery Section.
LINK to the synthetic winch lines.

Thanks for posting that.

That there are - but - most of the options are constructed of Dyneema SK75 fiber. One of the most common brand names is "Amsteel Blue" which is made by "Samson" which is what we (Southeast Overland) carries.

In my searching i just saw this, see post 15

http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/misc...rices-amsteel-blue-synthetic-winch-ropes.html

The Amsteel rep says "if it is garage kept and cleaned after each use I can see the rope lasting upwards of 4 years" about his 3/8 Amsteel winch line. I figured it would last longer than that?

FYI www.AmsteelBlue.com is not held by the manufacturer of Amsteel Blue, which is Samson. That is a different company that resells Amsteel Blue, like Southeast Overland does.

I disagree on the life of synthetic line. I've had 3/8" on the company FJ Cruiser for at least 2 years IIRC and have used the living snot out of it. It has much much more than 2 years of life left and it is not garage kept.

Thanks guys for the help. I decided to go with the Warn:

http://www.warnfactoryoutlet.com/Winches/Spydura-Synthetic-Rope-Winches/VR10000-s-Winch.axd?cid=548

A little more $$, but it's Warn...

You should be happy with that line. Buying a winch already loaded with synthetic is a good idea - but - if you need new synthetic line please give us a shot at Southeast Overland. We are very competitive in pricing, are in our third year of being a MUD vendor, and we are very responsive and supportive of our customers.

And don't forget our current holiday sale on winch lines. :D

I am glad to hear that the line is holding up well. That comment kinda scared me.

There is huge value in buying from a reputable source that stand behind what they sell. We should all remember that when talking about "value."

It is holding up quite well. It would be in even better shape if a spotter would have put the abrasion guard in the correct spot during a winch recover over top and back down across a sharp rock. o well...

BTW the 12k Badlands winch is on sale now for $299.
I recommend spending another $50 for the 2 yr full replacement plan. $350 for a 12k winch is still a killer deal. These winches hit the market at $500 when they first came out and for the occasional use that most folks give them, IMHO you can't beat it.

They are not my cup o tea but they fit the bill for some people. I do agree that $50 for a 2 year warranty is a good idea. Can you purchase a longer warranty?

Where did you find that... HF site says 399.:meh:
Thanks

I got a ad in the mail with the $299 price plus a 25% off coupon. My question is can I make this work in my FJ62 ARB bullbar? I won't use it much but my ARB is setup for a winch. I guess if I have enough room between the frame rails and the front valance and the bumper it could be made to fit.

What he said. I received an ad in the mail. I didn't see the 25% off coupon - probably overlooked it. I'd scan the ad for y'all but it became fire starter for my wood stove last night.

You guys must be inside track club members?

Since when can you use a coupon with a coupon. The 299 is a coupon so that's all I can use. Online and In store.

one on the roof too for those really really rocky situations? :)

Any thoughts on a cover for my winch sitting inside of my ARB bumper of my Fj62? Could I just take some heavy canvas and wrap it?

I imagine I can get super fancy and fabricate a metal cover, but I'm think more along the lines of a triple wrapped trash bag with a canvas cover....ghetto I know, but I'm aiming for cost effective.
