Well for some it will start at 9am. Others might be a little later. :D

This is going to be a good one. For all you owners who would like to learn how to do a knuckle rebuild and install a lift this is the one. We will taking on a completely stock FJ62. The axle is basically the same as a 40, 60 and 80 series. I don't know how many are planning on making this event. I'm meeting Alan in the morning in Hendersonville for breakfast. He said he was coming no matter what. Also I believe Dan, Andy, Steve and JP are coming. If you are thinking you will try to make it post up so David has enough beer and I guess food for us. Should be a fun time. I'm planning on unwrapping the heater my wife just bought and bringing it. It should have no problem heating his garge nice and toasty. ALso bring a chair if you have one. As there will be lots of sitting around waiting for David to do all the work.

Also we will be having the monthly meeting at the same location starting around 6pm. So come out have some free food Drink Davids beer. Even if you don't want to do anything but hang out and talk is fine with us. Since that is what we are good at.

Call me if you have any problems.

directions are.

12 Sage Drive, Weaverville, NC 28787

This is about an hour North of Greenville and 10 minutes North of Asheville. Follow I-26 (and Future I-26) all the way to exit 19A. You are now on 25/70 headed for Marshall (the city named after our glorious VP). Go through 2 red lights, then travel about 1 mile and turn left at the Time/Temp sign. My road is second on left, the one with Land Cruisers all over the place.

I'll be there, looking forward to catching up and working on David's nice 62!!

I have to stop either on the way there or headed home to pick up my deer from the processor. If anyone wants to eat some while we work on Sat., I'll stop on the way.

I know David always goes all out on food and what not so I don't want to interfere with his plans / setup. Just thought I'd throw it out there...

See you tomorrow!

Venison always welcome! The grill will be lit, so bring it on!

Was planning on it but you wouldn't hurt my feelings if you told me not to bother and you'd pick them up another time... :D

Oh, OK. Didn't want to drive a wagon but there's no way around it with those 5 meats...

They'll be there, with me, when I get there!!

Hey Andy right now I'm only going to use the new tires so you don't have to bring all of them. I can get the rest later.

** Just seeing if JP and Richard want to take note of who has a shot at a D1 National Championship this weekend... ** ;)

SOunds good.

On another note. I cannot seem to find my seal puller. Can anyone bring one?

If not we can get by. Or just go buy one as they are only 15 bucks. I probably need another.

I think I still have the one I bought for the job we did here. If I didn't lend it out it should still be here.

Let me go look, update coming...

A Seal puller! Don't tell Greenpeace!

Well, the burgers are in the fridge, the kettle of beans are on the stove, and several cases of beer are being chilled (minus a couple of samples)

I can run and get a seal puller at the Parts Store in the a.m.

Hoping to be there in the morning. I'll have to leave mid-afternoonish for a wedding tomorrow night, but I'll still be there long enough to tell a few lies and wrench a little.

Great! It will be good to see you again.

Success! HAMOM is done!

Alan, Marshall, Carl, JP, Steve, Allison, Andy, and Glenn (my neighbor the dragracer), all came, saw, and conquered. We installed a prototype spring system in my 62, and all went very well. The only problem was taking out my old spring pins - - - they didn't want to leave after almost 20 years.

In the end, we were able to prevail. Thanks to all who came and all who supported with sound advice. The most memorable moment was when JP showed me how to get the spring centering pin to align with the hole in the bottom of the axle. Lets just say it involved JP's feet.

Here are a few Pics:

1. Before, the bottom of the drivers side door was a mere 4 PBR cans.

2. After, the bottom of the drivers side door was an impressive 5 PBR cans.

3. Alan wrenching with two hands and jacking with one leg. I kid you not.
