H Engine covert to use a twist off oil filter (1 Viewer)

I thought you need to swap for the new 2H part and then keep using " normal " oil filters .. the bracket in a 2H it's 15609-68030

Looking at the EPC manual I think we can, but I am not 100% sure. I was thinking of scrapping the filter/mount that is on there and using something similar to this:

That way I use a completely std fuel filter.
 
Hey folks, new to the forum and the fj family.

I have a bj40 with h engine that uses a cannister oil filter housing, wanted to confirm the 2h swap would work before I buy it. And does any one have extras lying around that I will be able to purchase, I leave in the northeast US.

I think this is impossible. The H engine has the filter on the hot side of the engine, the 2H has the filter on the intake side of the engine bolted to the oil cooler. I dont see how this can possibly work at all.


Here's two types of 2H Oil Filter housings.. there's absolutely no matching bolt pattern on an H engine where this could possibly bolt up..
