I was wondering if I can get some feedback. I just bought a GX470 with sport package and I need to replace the driver side lower control arm. Does the kdss versus the non kdss have a different control arm or does it use the same one? I can't seem to find anything online referring to a kdss control arm. Thank you in advance for your help.

Np. To clarify, it is different -- the non-KDSS part won't work. Unfortunately, there aren't any sources for KDSS LCA's other than OEM. I did hear that Total Chaos (or Dirt King maybe?) was working on a KDSS lower control arm, but I'm not sure if it's ready yet.
 
Does anyone have a pic of the KDSS LCA in the rear? I'm curious as to the difference between the two styles.
 
Awesome pics @bravoleader, thanks. So a HD non KDSS LCA won't work in a KDSS ride due to space constraints? I'm squinting my eyes on the lower picture, at the very bottom left corner and I see the LCA mount but don't see any reason why a HD non KDSS LCA wouldn't fit in that space?
 
If you keep KDSS you have to get KDSS lower front arms. Rear is non-issue.

KDSS lower front arms is what I'm looking for. Those are what is bad on my vehicle right now. Do you recommend just swapping out the bushings? If so are the bushings the same as non KDSS?

I bet the bushings are the same for all arms across the board - FJC, 4RUNNER, GX, Taco but that's a WAG. It doesn't make sense to have different bushings for different models. I swapped out my bushings with Moog bushings and they're a good swap. I don't think you can buy OEM bushings from Lexus but that's another WAG.

Again, I don't have a GX and hopefully not spinning lies!
 
I believe you can buy new bushings but the labor to burn /press /fight them out plus that chance to get a fresh LBJ usually warrants the cost of a new arm.
 
Not to completely dig up an old thread, but is replacing the front LCAs on a KDSS-equipped vehicle the same as on a non-KDSS? Is it just different parts due to fitment?

I have found a handful of videos replacing the LCAs on non-KDSS 470s, but not any with KDSS. Without KDSS, it seems like a pretty easy job. May go ahead and pay for access to the shop manual online.
 
The KDSS front bar bolt directly to the LCA. That bracket is non existent in non KDSS LCA.
