I've been looking at new SUVs the last month. I'd like to get one of these, but it's really a little cramped on the headroom. I looked under the driver seat and there's a big box there. Any idea what this? Nav, Stereo, ECU??

I don't think the seat is going any lower with it there.

You do realize they are power Seats that lower right? I'm 6'1", Dan kunz is like 6'4" and both of us find the interior leave us with plenty of head room.

I have also lowered the seat all the way down, and I think going any lower youd have issues seeing out of the vehicle.

Yes. I realize that the seat goes down and that I might have the worlds longest upper body.

Any thoughts on that black box? Is it on all of them or just the ones with NAV?

That is the amp

All ML stereo packages come with it

Ok. Thanks for the help.

I have a 2004 non-nav, non-ML, and there is still an amp under the driver seat. It may be in all of them. For me, it's no problem, the driver seat can go low enough. The passenger seat, however, does not adjust up and down and it is pretty high.

I replaced my stereo in early 2010 so it is a stretch to remember some things. Sorry lol

You could probably just lengthen the wires and relocate it if you didn't want to go aftermarket.

You'll have a tough time finding anything with better headroom than the GX470 IMO.
