GX460 spare tire carrier options - bumper, hitch, swingout, etc?

I can confirm the Dirtcom Trailswing let's you open the rear glass with plenty of clearance on the OEM class IV hitch. If Dissent uses the same tire carrier design for their hitch swing as their bumpers, it should have a fair bit of adjustment available to clear the window.
Having run the Trailswing daily for the last 3 years, I can confirm that the single swing is fine but a double swing would get old fast.

Anything major to consider when deciding between Dirtcom Trailswing and Dissent’s hitch tire carrier? Would you pick Dirtcom again after Dissent’s release?

If I were picking a hitch mounted tire carrier today, I would 100% pick the Dirtcom if I was planning on installing/removing the carrier as needed. If I planned on leaving the carrier installed all the time, it would be a tougher choice between the 2.

Dissent has some unique features in their swingout with the level of adjustability/modularity and the gas strut latch. The Dirtcom is a simpler design with a manual latch and separate safety pin, and is less adjustable overall. The Dirtcom being a simpler design does mean it less bulky, has far fewer bolts/joints to worry about, is likely lighter, and is easier to install/remove.
The Dirtcom has been extremely solid for the last 2.5 years and I pretty much leave it installed 24/7. I currently have Dissent's 460 rear bumper sitting in my cart while I confirm I will not be murdered by my wife when it shows up.

Thanks for the insight. I will definitely give the Dirtcom another look. My plan is to take it on/off consistently, but I feel I will get lazy and really only take it off to tow my car to the track, which is a handful of times a year.

The most appealing part of the Dissent to me is that it has a gas strut and a table. Both are things I think I will use often. The gas strut making it easier to open the swingout every time I need to open the tailgate and the table as just having another surface to hold stuff at any time. Wish I could see both of these in person, I feel like I would be able to make a decision very quickly after testing both.

My experience with simple ditch light brackets from JW was not good. He eventually refunded half the cost due to obvious QC issues but it took awhile. JW would not be my first choice for more complex things like a swing out tire carrier.
FWIW my JW spare tire mount (on the door) has actually been pretty good so far after almost 2 years.

Might be help adjacent with this subject but I went through all of this recently on my 21. I put 265/70/18 BFGs on some Method 705 that are +18 offset. Normal trimming, etc.. I mounted a full size spare on one of the factory rims and just put it inside. My wife hated the new rubber smell so I had to adjust.

I decided to mount a 255/70/18 which is 1/2" tops smaller diameter tire. I put it underneath yesterday and it fit-JUST BARELY. I ground a few nubs out since I do not have a hitch and it has about a finger's distance to the bar at each bent edge of the sway. I'm happy.

I have a GX bug out bag with patch kit, VAIR, lugs, etc. The barely smaller BFG will get me back to the fix. And I don't have to take out my 3rd row now (but I might anyway)

And yes- Read ad nauseam about AWD and different size spares. I think it is close enough to get me to where I need to go. I also have my full size spare for the real expos when the Mrs isn't with and I can breath that clean new rubber smell again!
