I can still go through a midsized roundabout going 30 mph with my kdss bypassed. Drift one way on entry and one way on exit, turning them into a hard right hard left s turn, without exceeding the paint.

It can be quite tidy. Apparently learning to hustle s*** boxes has paid off.

Accidentally bought a '13 GX this week... That's a long story. OG front on this one. Why not... cheers.

She's a beaut, Clark.

I still occasionally think about what it would take to do a selectable 4WD transfer case on the 460. On the 4th gen V8 4Runners (and 470s if I'm not mistaken) you can swap in an FJ TC box and voila, 2WD/4WD...
Having all wheel drive is preferable to me in snow, ice, heavy rains, etc. where you don't have all you wheels driving, just one or two in back.
Or you lock it all up and now there's a possibility of swapping ends if on a slick highway.
With all wheel drive you have the luxury of getting power to any or all your wheels, as needed by computer, but not all at the same time, like if you were locked.
I wouldn't wouldn't want to be fully locked going 60 MPH on a snow covered road, but I feel fine in an all wheel drive.

Everyone has different use cases but for me the AWD/4WD system in the 460 is perfect.

I’m frankly not interested in part time 4WD setups at this point but I know many others have a desire for this for their own needs.

And... I've named her "June Bug".

I feel it's the most appropriate name for an OG faced GX460 purchased in June who came out of nowhere...

And "June Bug", being a type of scarab, gives it a touch of a Mideast vibe - the GX's incredible HVAC system always reminds me of the Saudi market where these popular vehicles deal with temps as high as 130 F in the summer months...

"June Bug" will be a welcome member of the family.

Once I have a different DD I would like to swap in a second reduction section since I am actually doing trails where I could take advantage of it. Especially for going downhill.

👍 There is a smarter and more capable feature set in the GX460. Why someone would wish to halve that capability I just don't get.

I couldn't name a rig June Bug LOL. That was somewhat a disparaging remark and name we used to use in the Navy a long time ago. To this day when asked for my email and I know that it will only generate spam I put in junebug@hotmail.com.

My first LC was a 77 FJ55 Iron Pig in the late 70's through the 80's. During Desert Storm we pulled into Abu Dhabi and I didn't bring home much from the war. But did bring back a full page add for the Land Cruiser

We used to call them Sand Cadillac's. Still waiting for that ice maker to make it to the US market! ;)

When someone says Junebug, I think of I'm Gonna Git You Sucka

Alright fam... I was not aware of the negative connotations. I'll rename her by July... especially ironic Navy nickname being that the truck is originally from Virginia Beach and is headed there later this week as well.

Nah - can't really undo it. LOL. Already been named. She's "June Bug". So be it. But thanks for the heads up @Cold Iron .

Another amazing day wheeling in the mountains. I managed to pivot on a rock using my steps and they are still attached!
