It is "hang loose" or in the 70's was more "hang ten" on the Rock (Oahu) with the coastal surfing crowd, and once in a while seen it in SoCal but not often. I spent 6 months on the Rock TAD in the mid 70's during the 5 years that I was homeported in San Diego. And of course have to stop there for a bit on the way to a Western Pacific deployment.

Just got back from the Sunset Country of Ontario with the Admiral, the Skipper couldn't make it this year he is closing on his house in Boston and downsizing. His other home is in Oahu easy to figure out which home he spends 6 months at. He purchased his Oahu house in the early 80's. The 3 of us have been stationed in Pearl Harbor at one time or another and when calling each other will often greet and close our phone conversations with Aloha. None of us will give each other the shaka though, that is for the young surfer crowd. More times than not back then it meant hang loose, usually along the lines of Eh brah lets go smoke some Pakalolo. Had no idea that it is now called the shaka.

Never dreamed that I'd end up in the Upper Midwest. The one thing that is consistent across the nation in rural areas is the one finger salute in acknowledgement or respect. Subtle and that is more my style and what I do, like this

I picked that picture because I had a 67 Mustang with a 289 and it was burnt orange as well. It was my last car before I got my first 4x4 a 77 FJ55 Iron Pig Land Cruiser and haven't owned a car since, only 4x4's. Been more than a few years.
Where I come from, the "one finger salute" means something else entirely. :flipoff2:

I give that one out too frequently as an honorary Houstonite.

I think this is where I am supposed to hold up a hand with all 5 fingers in the air and say here is a fist full of :flipoff2:

🍻
My paternal grandmother would do that and be like here is a bouquet of em for you. The "f-er" was silent. It was my maternal grandmother that swore, but only during football or basketball games.

Apparently my spidey sense was 100% on, with concern for my cooling system. My radiator was cracked. They are going to have to get a generic but it will still have a warranty, and long term I have plans for a performance radiator.
I will be driving the NX350h for the weekend.

Sucks but at least it you caught it before it caused any damage. Between my radiator and the coolant valley leak, I was chasing coolant issues all last year. I didn't trust it at all. Feels good to now that I haven't had to add coolant in almost a year.

Do you know the difference between a lifted GX460 and an NX350h loaner?

You can take the loaner anywhere! Look out B-Roads, there's a hybrid a coming.

That or road trip with almost 40 mpg

Honestly this is the first repair I am paying a mechanic for in 25 years, so it's not bad. Other than maybe a half dozen oil changes and some alignments i have done it all on my own after I had a very very bad experience with my first 'yota. I had to steal my truck back with the help of someone that worked there. So I have done my own major work since.

I’m contemplating getting a ‘24 or ‘25 RX 450h+ PHEV

Hanging onto my ‘12 460 until unrepairable

The RX will offload the G35x

Don't get me wrong, I daily drive an electric car. It's a blast to drive and a good compliment to my archaic V8; body on frame; solid axle baby. The commuter car is on a low mile lease, but the GX is going to the grave with me. Saving money on gas is always good.

Also, the Hyundai would be terrible off road and the Ioniq forums are lame.

Nice thing about an EV for commuting, every morning you have a full thank without having to waste time at the pump!
For me, one of the few perks of an EV.

Love it! Not sure what I can put there... just yet...
Well, for $48.00, I'm guessing it's U.S. made.

I assume they will stand by their product as well… I will pay more for a quality US product to last but expect b1ching from me if they break.

My cheap Chinese goods… expectations are low so …accept outcomes from the cheap price I own. I will definitely attempt to obtain warranty but don’t get all wound up if it ends up in net zero as I accepted that possibility with purchase.

Installed a fresh set of 1632s this morning. Still had some life in them but range was beginning to suffer. Didn't want to take any risks with cooler weather approaching in coming months. Will have to remember to set the seat heat after the first frost. 🤣
