finally reinstalled the side step lights, after installing sliders 4 years ago. went with amber so it’s easier on eyes compared to white light.
That is on my punch list! Lost them when I had sliders installed.

Starting on that drawer system/sleeping platform build. Thanks to Jake, @WTITW , for the videos I’ve watched several hundred times in preparation for the build!

Rad. You got this! Hit me up if you need help.

I think the only thing Id change is maybe doing rivnuts for the front mounts just because it’s so much easier than getting those made. Although the way I did it in the video is certainly stronger.
Which front mounts? I’ve already got my brackets made for bottom platform. I forgot my tap and die set at work, but I have the holes drilled out.

Those. Ignore me. You already did it the better way. I meant you could do rivnuts in the seat mount ridge there instead of making brackets. Yours look awesome.
lol I did it the harder and more expensive way. I bought a flat bar bender from Swag Offroad so I could make the bends. They came out okay, but are far from perfect. I even cut my base 41”x41” instead of 42.25” by 41”. Too busy yapping with the wife I didn’t notice. Sooo, I have to get some more wood to finish the job correctly, but I make the 42.25”x41” cut with the other half of the plywood and moved on. I’ll finish up the base tomorrow, get some more measurements, then order the extruded aluminum. Thanks for your help!

Love the receiver mounted vice!
If I have the room, that could be a great trail "tool" to carry along. All too often one needs a vice on the trail to fab something for recovery or whatever.

Looking good! Did you happen to measure the distance between the mounting bolts?

It’s heavy, but it might become part of the kit once everything is all said and done.

Nope, placed my wood on top of the bolts and quote “hit it with a big ass hammer”.

I got the four rear bolts in.View attachment 4010430
Noice! Thats how I started.

I have since wheeled the s*** out of my truck. Had it airborne multiple times, all sorts of weird off camber stuff dozens of 80-0 panic stops on I25, and its still holding.

Don’t listen Richard! He carries a complete machine shop 🫣 (but I hope he’s with me the next time I break down on the trail)

You just made the 20hrs it took me to make those two videos 💯% worth it.

That's a LOT of sensors. Have you recently worked on or around any of the electrical connections between those sensors and the PCM? Such as when installing your new head unit? I'd interpret that many different codes as a plug working itself loose (likely) or a one of the computers failing (unlikely).

Don't think so? I'll inevitably take it apart to see if anything came loose but it didn't happen at first so I figured maybe it was just from something on the brake side of things

Is there a master fuse for the abs that would cause this?

I'll have to go hunting later to see what I can find

Edit: For more context, the lights on the dash went away after a restart
Something may have been unplugged or disconnected for a short time when you worked on the dash. After all these are CANBUS vehicles, so everything is routed through everything else. That's such an unusual set of codes to appear after some major dash work that I'd be surprised if the two events aren't related. If it "fixed itself" and the lights never come back on, I'd not worry about it :). If something is truly unplugged or messed up, they'll light up again. I'd keep the code reader in the GX for at least a couple weeks, just in case that happens.

FWIW, I pulled a motor out of my old Subaru over a decade ago. The clip broke on the main harness between the engine and the firewall. Months later, the plug worked itself just a little bit loose - first causing intermittent stalling - which eventually progressed to the Subie dying on the side of the road. I was not as advanced of a DIYer at that time so I struggled to troubleshoot it. After replacing a handful of electronic parts, I threw in the towel and had it towed to the dealer. They quickly diagnosed it and had it running again.
