Need help finding a bolt for the rear of the GX. I think it's the ABS line? I'm missing two bolts and want to get this buttoned up ASAP. Can't for the life of me find it's on any of the parts diagrams. It lives behind the KDSS bar on the upright on either side of the diff housing, above what looks like the brake line.

That's a ABS line. That bolt is highly likely to be a basic M8x1.25 thread, which you can easily pick up for <$1 at any hardware store. I'd get a flange bolt and thread it in. The hardware store bolts usually have a 13 mm head instead of the 12 mm JIS head, but I have tons of them in my rig and it's a non-issue.

Thanks! Will grab some and give it a go.

Thoughts on how the bolt length? They have 25-45mm

Probably 25 mm or less. Looks like the threads are right behind it.

My local farm and ranch store sells metric bolts by the pound. I have baggies full of different lengths and styles of M6x1.00 and M8x1.25 bolts, washers, nuts, etc. for use on my rig. I also keep some in the rig for emergency use. So, it's often worthwhile just to have a bit stock of them on hand if you wrench on the rig with any regularity. The M6x1.00 is also super common....anything with a 10 mm head on these rigs will typically be that thread.

They are pretty short - I just replaced these to install the Budbuilt diff skid so I may have them lying around the garage. I can check after work and see if I can get somewhat accurate measurements.

On the other hand, if you buy a Budbuilt diff skid he will send you the appropriate new hardware that replaces those. That's the most expensive solution by far.

Haha, if you don't mind measuring that would be a big help. Path of least resistance (i.e., cost) if ideal here.

Played some fuel gauge chicken this morning and gave up once I hit single digits on range. Spotted a lifted LX450 and diesel Hilux Surf at the same gas station. Cool start to the day. 🤣
I have manages a 22.2 gallon fill.up going about 45 miles past 0. I like to live dangerously. In all seriousness I regularly do this so if I every run the vehicle out of fuel I am less like to suck up a bunch of 💩 and clog something. It's probably not even a thing anymore, but I digest. 😉

Mine was 19.96 gallons, so I think your numbers are likely accurate. I was on the way into work and couldn't chance it this time.

Shared a birthday ice cream cake with the better half this evening so I am doing the same. 🤪

Oh totally. And I try not to run that low more than once a quarter or so, otherwise I am normally just taking it down to between a 1/4 tank and the light.

I did manage Golden to Des Moines with only one refuel stop. It was on vapors when I refilled in Nebraska.

Have some ice cream for me. I have to be good since a med i am no longer taking threw my A1C out of whack. I am almost back down to my "fighting weight" though, so it's paid off. I finally am at my pre-covid weight and only 20 lbs more than my avg construction worker weight when I used to average walking 6 miles a day at work.

Now I sit in comfort and it's amazing.

Same here minus the meds. Had to have the talk with my doc after A1C hit 5.7 following a few weeks on the road and garbage fast food. I was honest and didn't try to get back to healthy eating before the bloodwork and he could tell. Congrats on the comfort gains!

9 miles left, why did you stop lol
I don’t know what it is about my personality I always try and push the tank, in the end I regret it when I have a 100$+ fill up, something about that crushes the soul.

10 miles to work and opening is time-sensitive. If I was headed home it would have been a different story.

That's why I try to fill up between 1/4 and 1/2 tank so I can pretend its cheaper.

I've gone past zero miles of range a few times. I think it shows "--" on the range screen if my memory serves. I do a 21+ gallon tank from time to time to flush out the bottom of the tank. I ran an old carbureted car out of gas once and ended up needing a new pump and fuel filter afterwards, so I've made it part of my driving routine to run low a couple times a year.

It also helps to have an somewhat accurate idea of your true range. I suspect there's 2gal at the bottom once the range hits (--) and plan accordingly. I don't intend to run out entirely, but it's nice to know you can squeeze at least 22.2 gallons out of a tank in a pinch.

It's a 23 gallon tank. My Tacoma would drop about 1/8th of an inch below the gathering all together when you had 10 miles to fill or be walking.

Big ass X7 solar flare 4 hours ago. 2nd biggest flare of solar max so far. Depending on its speed probably 3-4 days we might get a geomagentic storm.
