GX 470 CD Player "Error 3"

Bought my folks GX from them a few months ago. Started using the CD changer (they never did) and on disc 6 it won't play and returns the error 3 message. Manual says to eject the cd, but it won't eject. All other disc slots work fine.

Any ideas?

your 6th disc is jammed in there....you'll have to get it out somehow, thats for sure.

I figured that. I got it to eject the Steel Pulse cd, now it is making strange noises. I guess I am wondering if it's worth fixing or time to get something fancier?

Get a GROM or other aux-in setup, gain bluetooth, phone via USB, and thumbdrive via USB connectivity to replace the CD changer, and not have to carry CD's in the car anymore. Works with factory stereo, but adds new stereo connectivity. If you have the ML audio, it's tough to beat for sound quality as is.

I think that's the ticket. I've been looking at units on Crutchfield and I'm amazed at what you get for the money nowadays. We're out of town but I will be looking into a replacement once I'm back in Utah.

I had the same error on the changer in my ES right after I got it 3 years ago. Changer was done. It didn't really bother me, it was in the center console and took up too much room, so I yanked it out. CDs are a nuisance these days, what with iPods and Pandora on our phones.

@KLF mine is shot too. the compartment in the center console is molded. did you just remove the player somehow?
i too would like that space back.
