I don't know, I didn't ask them but I was monitoring their website almost daily and one day all their new '23 GX 460s were gone and they were all listed as CPO all with less than 50 miles on it, prices stayed the same but now you get an extra 2 year warranty on it. I guess they are trying to make them more attractive to buyers since the new GX550s are coming

Or they can charge higher interest rates?

If they "sell" them to themselves and then re sell as used certified, they will be able to ask more because of the extra warranty AND be able to count the unit as a unit sold, which will allow them to get more of the new "better " (also way more expensive) units. The allotment scheme is such bull****, its completely backwards of TPS and the Pull system.

So glad I pulled the trigger back in November.

I was shopping for 23 GX's recently and here a lot of the dealers are taking their unsold New '23s and converting them to Certified Pre-Owned.
Are they jacking the prices doing that?

Switching the unsold 23s to be certified pre-owned is probably somewhat of a marketing decision. They want to hype the new GX so they don't want people to see new 460s and new 550s at the same time.

It also gives some incentive to the 460 since you have the extended warranty.

like they're not gonna sell every 550 that hits the lot!
Especially the ugly color ones with goofy accessories.
I'm curious what some dealers will add to give them that "off road" look and have zero function.
May have to have a separate post just for goofy accessories!

Not to me. My 460 will still be driving in 30 years, long after the teenie turbos on the 550 have gone kaput!
...and the hybrid batteries flat-line.

I recently got rid of what will be my last turbocharged vehicle. Turbos are just too much of a pain to maintain properly and even if you do, sometimes they just don't last more than 100k miles if that and they are pretty expensive to replace (just in labor alone). Glad I picked up a very clean low mileage 460, I have a feeling keeping this thing running for another 20 years will be easy-peasy compared to my last few vehicles which were turbocharged.

Good decision.

There's ~89 left.

Yep, there goes the last of the (Toyota) V8s 😕

Trying to get my parents to buy one of the few remaining new 460s to replace their 2014 5.7L Grand Cherokee (which is currently dead and needs a motor), but they'll probably end up going CPO
They really need to get a GX and not a JGC. I loved our Grand Cherokee Trailhawk but I knew it wasn't going to outlast a Toyota product.

After the debacle that they've been through with this JGC (285k miles on it now, been through multiple transmissions and rear differentials, multiple UConnect screens, and now it needs an engine... and they spent over a month fighting Stellantis over the coverage their supposedly "unlimited" warranty does/doesn't cover) I think they are done with Jeep and Chrysler/FCA/Stellantis forever. Hoping they end up in a CPO GX460. Probably that or a T4R.
