Sethos - Thanks for posting the pics...I'll take some closeups of the mount.

I would think something could be rigged up for a Yakima system.

BTW...Victor wish you could have made it...one day you will get your truck dirty again.

cheers

Ya me to, its been like six months since I've actually done any wheelin. Next time we'll do a Miller run. Where did you end up going?

Started at Silverwood lake and went up 2N17X trail (google it...lots of trip reports) Kinda technical...steep hills.....loose dirt...few small ledges. I hadn't played in the dirt for about 4 months - this was a good spot to get familiar with the truck again.

what kind of tires are those?

Posting pics for silvercruiser.

Looks pretty sweet to me, and a good price to boot.

I could probably guess alright but what are the width and length dimensions for your awning? I couldn't find this info on their web-site.

Not what you asked for but what the heck eh?! My Horizon trailer came with one of the smaller Fiamma's and it is really nice...although not cheap.

Reviving a old post...

Can you post up pics of the mounting? I'd really like to persue this setup.

I'll try and take pics tonight. Also, I'll be at SnT and you can get a good look then. You are still going...right?

cheers,
David...

what happened to just tying a tarp to the roof rack and stretching it out to either another rig, a tree or posts? Sounds easy, effective and really cheap.

This board is all about excess and disposable income:flipoff2: We all have stuff that we don't really *need* but want and this is one such example! This is a cool product!

good point. now onto flushing my coolant system for the 3rd time this year just in case!!! :)

Ok, I called Shadyboy for a price breakdown:

Price (sky blue, dark blue, burgandy): US$ 238
Silver reflective material : + $ 15
bracketries and such (VW) : + $ 18 (pair)
Shipping to N.M. (typical) + $ 35

Items are made to order.

There you have and there it is.

Seems like their price has dropped a few bucks. Good news for all.

Bringing it back from the dead.

Im thinking about this option, did anyone else buy one of these.
Silvercruiser are you still diggin it?
Any other opinions?

Thanks,

ken

here's what I did Ken. It is a awning, but it is really an Army surplus tent so it doubles a makeshift shelter if necessary. The side poles aren't fully extended so it looks a little saggy.

Hi Ken,
Yes, I'm still digging it...family likes it too when we stop for lunch on one of our outings. It's also very easy to mount/unmount and not too big to store in the garage.

cheers,
David...

Thanks for the reply,
David did you ever mount it on the rear hatch area? Pic?
-Does the shade/awning seem durable?,will it last?

Thanks,

ken

Please tell me you don't bring the shrubbery along as part of your camp set-up. :flipoff2:
