Started at Silverwood lake and went up 2N17X trail (google it...lots of trip reports) Kinda technical...steep hills.....loose dirt...few small ledges. I hadn't played in the dirt for about 4 months - this was a good spot to get familiar with the truck again.

what happened to just tying a tarp to the roof rack and stretching it out to either another rig, a tree or posts? Sounds easy, effective and really cheap.

here's what I did Ken. It is a awning, but it is really an Army surplus tent so it doubles a makeshift shelter if necessary. The side poles aren't fully extended so it looks a little saggy.

Hi Ken,
Yes, I'm still digging it...family likes it too when we stop for lunch on one of our outings. It's also very easy to mount/unmount and not too big to store in the garage.
