David did you ever mount it on the rear hatch area? Pic?
-Does the shade/awning seem durable?,will it last?
I don't have a pic but I actually prefer to mount it over the rear hatch. We were camping while it was raining. I did all the cooking under the awning (while the family stayed in the tent) and stayed pretty dry. Also works well to protect from the sun while you hang out on the tailgate. I'll look for a pic but don't think I have one.
The durabilty is a concern it is a lightweight material. I'm extra careful not to snag it on anything as it seems it would rip much easier than the heavy duty awnings from Hanibal...etc.
I found this on expeditionportal site. The only bad thing about this product is that it has hummer logo in it.
