While scavenging through my dad's old shed i found the old forgotten OEM rims for my fj62  currently my CRuiser is sitting on some 8.5 15s with 31s.

now for the question should:
i put the OEM rims on and run 32" km2 pizza cutters
or
Leave the centerlines on and run 32" km2s and keep the "wider style"

thanks
Hunter

the wider the tire usually means better traction, I sold my stock wheels for 300$ (5 wheels) all were in great condition.

Ya i just need to clean mine up a little they've been sitting since 1995 haha X) no road rash or rust tho!

with gas prices only to go up, you might want to save 'em, put skinnies on and save some money that way.

Sort of. It really depends on the situation that you are in. The longer footprint of a skinny tire can sometimes make for better traction in the end..

It's a crap shoot on which one is a better choice.

Personally, I like Fate tires :D

what tire is a good one to get in skinny? im looking to go 32" i wish i could find skinny km2s :(

Just put 33 10.50 KM2's on stock rims. Don't let anyone tell you skinny's don't wheel. Last summer I ran 33 9.50 BFG AT's through Rubicon with no tire related issues.

You might find this article helpful and it has pictures of my KM2's. The site has lots of pics wheeling a wagon on skinny's.The Wagon Way

I prefer the look of fat tires, but the mini-truck has gone through some pretty rough trails on 10.5" tires with no issues. I run 33x12.5's on the 60 just because it fills in the wheel well better with my wagon wheels. Purely for looks :o

Can you run 33s on stock gearing as a daily? thanks for the reply btw

I ran a 2F with 33's and stock gearing for a long time before my diesel swap. But I had a H55 transmission which has lower 1st gear. It was fine most of time...the only real problems came with elevation and hills, especially with them combined! You will be slow, but not too much of a traffic hazard.

On flat ground you get the free overdrive which helps with MPG, but it's still not great.

We spend a fair amount of time above 7,000' elevation each year in our 60, you get used to enjoying the scenery as it slowly goes by, and in no time you don't notice the honks and fingers anymore...LOL.

33's and 2F's will work, and work well, just slow.

Doug
