The stairsteps is a shortcut between two G-trails; G38 on the lower side and I'm not sure, but maybe G2 on the upper side. It MIGHT have been traverseable by an 80 on the left side a while ago, but certainly not any time recently.

I think G5 is the lower trail. And going down isn't bad (pun intended)...

G5 and I think 3 or 5 up top. Sadly the upper trail is not a designated gravel road but pretty much is. Think they renamed it 45 but locals call it the Cascades. I did it on my bone stock 80 (with running boards and ATs) about 3 years ago.
