Has anyone been contacted about payment or deposits? I've been on the list for over a month (at least) but have not heard anything.

Surprising they are in production without deposits...

You USA guys rock with your group buys!!!

I'll rehash my post from when i got my Pacemakers fitted and custom 3" system with hi-flow CATs here:

https://forum.ih8mud.com/100-series-cruisers/304721-new-exhaust-pics.html

However, it would seem that my quote for stainless and what i have are two different things, and as i dont have anything in writing....game over probably. (edit: my system isnt stainless and i'm not happy, but it will last quite a while as is)

Anyway, as i mentioned in that post very happy, but i probably should have gone with the Genies.

Now, there was a mention about clearance of the headers/extractors with this co you are going with.

The install time for the Pacemakers web site for the ones i have says about 4 hours. Performance Exhaust said the same. But, that's because they have done the install many many times before!!!!!!
So for the home tinkerer/wrencher probably double that!!

And they have the old rattle guns (compressed air tools) and know what to do.
If I had to do it....yeah i could unbolt the factory manifolds and fit the headers but i wouldnt be able to weld up the collectors etc or extend the sensors that feed into the CATs!!!

So the big questions you guys need to ask are:
1) how do they integrate with the factory exhaust.
2) any welding/fabrication required
3) do you need to modify the sensors on the CATs.
4) etc.

Apologies if you'e asked these already.

cheers
peter
ps my site is down for maintenance so if you click my profile the pics arent there at the moment. They are there, i just need to fix the site, but will soon.

From what I have read in this thread Peter the group buy headers bolt up to the factory CAT pipes without modification so they won't need to worry about cutting the OEM CAT pipes or extending the O2 sensor wires like you would for the Pacemakers.

With the Pacemakers on mine with a header back 'performance' system as well (i.e. free flow CAT's as well) the first two attempts at the exhaust mufflers were very loud but third time lucky now you'll know it's coming but you don't need ear plugs.

The OEM silencing must be super restrictive on these trucks.

Has anyone been contacted by Nick about the latest status? Updates?

I just called and left those guys a message. I am the one who brought my truck in for the original desgin and test fit in April. Because of my schedule, I told them I wanted to bring my truck back next week for the final installation and dyno tests. They will need to bring my truck off site before and after installation, to a shop with a 4 wheel dyno. This will be a PITA. Apparantley 4 wheel dynos are not all that common, even in Southern CA. I will see if I can make that work ASAP, and will report back.

Perhaps you should just run it in RWD. It would also be a closer comparison to the Tundra 4.7L dyno... if that matters any.

or build them, send it to me and have me get the dyno done...since I know of one close. :flipoff2:

When I went to the shop we talked about removing a drive shaft, but they made some calls and found a dyno a few miles away they could use. Thorley several dynos in the main facility but none for full time. I think a bunch of us should dyno these things with various combinations separatley. I would like to see the test sheets on stock versus new headers, cool air kit, new muffler w/and without resonator, etc... If i can be there I may have them run a seperate test before and after without my airfilter just to see what happens. Once these headers are ready everyone should report back and post the #'s from their local shops.

The only other upgrade I plan after headers will be a new Magnaflow muffler. My local shop told me that the resonator is not restrictive at all and can be left on. The muffler on the other hand is fairly restrictive.

I may hack it off. It has survived many rocks but it is only a matter of time before it gives up the ghost.

With headers and a Magnaflow muffler you might need the/a resonator or ear plugs if mine was anything to go by.

just slap a cherry bomb in where the resonator is. if its too loud. there lik 25 bucks.

Only problem with CDL locked + front driveshaft disconnected = no accurate power gains. Since the front drive line is a drag on the engine, with that drag removed, the power wont be accurate.

I don't think there was even a baseline dyno run so... :meh:

Anyone heard anything on this lately? Do we have an estimated delivery date?

I sure hope you guys get your headers...but so many holes in this post I would worry if it was my money....no baseline testing, sporadic info updates, just lots of questions.

No one's out a dime so far and they're dealing with a reputable company. I wouldn't worry much at all. It just takes patience.
