Hey All,

I’m at a loss of what part I need to buy to rectify this situation… I’m sure it’s an easy answer and thank you all in advance.

I installed the slee main battery upgrade and battery terminals. (1 & 2). And I put in an odyssey group 31 (3). Finally I installed these battery posts (4).

There is very little clearance to the hood. I think the matting is resting on the terminals. I think I need new “low profile” battery posts (something to replace item 4 below) but idk what I’m looking for.

1) SLEE - Main Battery Upgrade Tray - '98-07 Land Cruiser / LX470 - Slee Off Road - https://sleeoffroad.com/products/sok0019/

2) SLEE - Billet Battery Terminals - Set - Slee Off Road - https://sleeoffroad.com/products/sok20002/

3) https://www.napaonline.com/en/p/ODY...VqGBHAR07Kxk7EAQYAiABEgLU0_D_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

4) Car Battery Post Adapter: 4Pcs... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09VYQGVCK?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

from the pic that @sc40 to the pic from @Trunk Monkey
it looks like the terminals are not down fully on the posts
are the top of the posts flush with the billet piece?

Your terminals look different than the ones linked and the picture TM posted.

How about a top view pic?

I think @Trunk Monkey got it. I just ordered that part and will let yall know how it goes.

As requested; a few different angles. FYI- The posts are screwed in as far as they can go.

Update:
I ordered these new battery posts, but the slee battery terminals won’t fit over them.

Positive and negative have different sizes. Be sure you install correctly.

I don't think you need to change anything unless we are working with different parts / your battery post are larger..... I'm not sure what you've got going on.

Why does your positive terminal look all mashed up?

I notice the orientation of my terminals are different than in your pic, could that be a factor? I was able to keep my original + cable mount setup

You need the "short OE " terminal. That is assuming the battery you are working with fits these specs:
  • The Positive Post Terminal is tapered from 3/4″ to 11/16″
  • The Negative Post Terminal is tapered from 11/16″ to 5/8″

Confirmed that I do in fact have the short battery terminals.

I found that I had mis-installed the battery posts and after swapping those the terminals fit. Thanks @hoser !

I am however still getting some contact with the hood and the negative posts. I’ve tried re-routing some wires and sliding the battery as far towards the passenger as I can but it’s not totally resolved it.

Try unfastening the negative terminal and tucking it behind the battery. Then try closing the hood. If closes, then you will either need a smaller negative terminal or maybe just twisting it so it is at a different angle that doesn't make contact with the ribs in the hood.

Looks like you tested Ohms law! LOL!

in the 1 pic from the side with the hood closed, is the hood hitting the terminal or the battery or both?
I see the odyssey battery has the terminals centered across the top of the battery, the stock has them offset to the rear giving more clearance with the slope of the hood
if others have this setup, not sure what is different with yours

Update after some vacation time during the holidays.

I can confirm that the battery posts are making contact with the hood. Attached are pictures of the hood closed with the terminals off.

I also included some pictures of the posts themselves where it does seem that if they were just a tad shorter this would clear. Idk what the part is that would solve this and am at a bit of a loss.

Worst case, I’ve got to get another different battery and will just be out $500 on this Odyssey (which was a recommended battery from Slee 🤷‍♂️🫠)

Pic 1: hood not closing fully despite no battery terminals
Pic 2&3: the gap with a key for reference from driver and passenger side respectively

Pic 4&5: the “extra” threads on the battery posts. IF I could get posts that stop right at the top of the male thread I think k id be golden…

did you ever get with Slee to discuss this issue?
has anyone else posted there install?

From looking through the pics, does the actual post on the battery screw in deeper using the Allen hole? IF so, are those the few mm your looking for?
