Girls all cleaned up. The headlight (+fog lights on 470) restoration really came out fantastic. I now expect Mother Nature to make it rain, because, Texas.

I remember now why I hate black vehicles. So many chips, scratches, dings and some paint transfer to address. Nah, I’ll Raptor coat right over that junk.

Finally got around to putting a mic for my GROM Vline so I can use voice commands and talk on the phone. LOL

Also decided to put a USB port in the little cubby in the console. The RAM mount being on the dash just causes too much heat and iPhones do not like heat. I’ll probably use that for a dedicated GPS device.

So still working on that above project. I wanted to interrupt this thread to say I’m pretty amazed at how well built these things are. I went in for my oil change (+trans fluid service) and had my mechanic there run the 180 point (or whatever point) full inspection so I can have a running list of things to replace to bolster reliability and I’ll be dammed if he didn’t come back only with diff, transfer case and brake fluid services and that’s it. 153k miles and it’s still in phenomenal mechanical shape. Kudos to Toyota of Japan for building probably the most reliable vehicle on planet earth in both GX generations and perhaps the Tundra.

Ok an off topic update. I sold the GX470 today. I almost didn’t, but my wife and I had our needs changed so we kept the 460. After driving the 470 around getting various things done I realized again why I bought it and the 460 to begin with. It was just brilliant full stop. We are REALLY going to miss that 470, it was quite frankly the best used vehicle I’ve personally ever owned and I’m over 18 used cars owned in my adult life.

The new owner is a member here so hopefully I’ll get to see updates. For now I get to go on my hunt for a new Rav4 Prime. I hope to begin tackling the remaining projects on the 460 soon. I’m still not sure what to do with a spare tire and or rear bumper...

Ooooh, that’s not good. It’s the passenger rear—you know the car seat access hatch. Might as well replace all of them!

Anyone know of 4Runner door handles in the front have the sensor dimple and or will work for the proximity sensor?

Dude, you need to take a break from the weight training! You're getting too buffed!!

Actually, this same thing has happened on my Father-in-laws Infiniti Murano, on TWO of his door handles. (and he's not buffed at all...)
I see it as a really poor design where they use such thin material there.

And to your point, sorry, don't know if the 4R's handles are similar in any way. My best guess is that they aren't.

It keeps piling on!!! LOL Rock cracked the windscreen. Like cracked it 80% of the width horizontally at the bottom by the wipers. UGH.

I'd be really interested in replacement handles myself as well. The chrome on mine is so rough.
100%! All of my plastic chrome trim on all door handles is cracked. I’m going to try and find black replacements. I hate chrome on vehicles made after 1970.

Yeah. I missed an F Sport grill on the GXOR Marketplace FB group the other day and I'm so mad at myself. I can't stand the stock gaudy grill.

Get one new from Bell Lexus, they're not THAT expensive.

I’m going to check them and the other two I order parts from to see who gives the best deal. Any idea how much labor cost it’ll be to put on?

Literally every dealership is out of stock as of like Dec 2021… I got into the platform at just the wrong time. If you can find one in stock, I’ll buy it immediately.
Bummer... It'll be back. Sometime. Thanks COVID!
