Everything the hype said it was for the RAV4 Prime. The back seat room is pretty good. With the drivers seat in my position (I’m 6’) I had a few inches between the seat and my knees. Oh and the power delivery is insane as advertised. 302hp and ~453 total combined torque. Goes like a stabbed rat.Congrats.
What’s your impression so far? I need a new road-car for my 35k mile/yr job.
I believe Toyota was also trying to hype the new Rav4 as more of an adventure vehicle.
Do you have the 2x or 4x4? Does the new Rav4 4x4 have a low range now? My daughters '13 Rav4 is 4x4 and she loves it! But no low range.
I’ve been super happy with my power stop heavy duty kit. I did rotors and pads and have utmost confidence with stopping power even with it fully loaded. Was one of the first things I did.Ok ladies and gents. I’m waiting for my service mgr guy at the Toyota dealer I deal with who really hooks me up with pricing and such get back to me with cost to address the coolant valley plate work (+PCV). I’ll be getting this work done in May. While they are in there I’m going to have then inspect the EGR system too. Don’t suspect a problem but while they are in there it’s a good idea. I’m going to also get the full Power Stop heavy duty brake kit installed like I did on our 470. I will update the thread on the cost I was quoted.
Don’t tell the wife but I’m desperate to squeeze more ponies outta this thing to help with the elevation lack of performance. Driving a fast vehicle again has spoiled me haha (RAV4 Prime). Headers and a tune should solve it I think. Anyone know if the LS 4.6 has a different intake manifold or if the 5.7 manifold is compatible? Not sure if they are the same engine family. I’m used to Chrysler and the 5.7/6.4 engine family. If not porting the intake manifold might also be on the table—more air in and more air out. With my new much higher paying job I’m going to sneak some work in on the 460. Getting performance headers on this thing is gonna be a pain me thinks.

You're right, the issue isn't the engine flange manifold outlet, that part is easy. The twister, pun intended, is getting them to squirrel around through the engine bay to the collector, AND at the same time having each port have the same length tube!To my knowledge no one makes headers for a GX460. They are available for the 470 from Doug Thorley, but expensive ($800-900), and usually on backorder. It's a relatively small market and difficult packaging, so no one has really decided to make them (at least yet). It should be possible to get a custom pair of headers, but would be $$$$ as it would be a lot of custom fabrication and TIG welding.
The 4.6 and 5.7 are all in the UR engine family and should share the same exhaust flange, but I would presume the packaging/header fitment in a GX is much different than within the larger Tundra/LC 200 engine bay, so 5.7 headers would be unlikely to work as-is.
They are also made for the 2UR in the Lexus IS-F (taking donations if someone would like to buy me oneYou're right, the issue isn't the engine flange manifold outlet, that part is easy. Thanks! No re-gear performed. Still deciding if I want to go that route.nice build! I'm sorry i didn't read through the whole thing, so i may have missed this - but for power - have you thought about re-gearing? if you have already done this, please ignore me!
Love those grills!! I'm getting so close to wanting one of those LEXUS grills (priorities)!!!
It’s super easy to put on. Depending on your factory radiator support brackets for the grille some trimming may be required, but not hard at all. Took me maybe 15 minutes, and I took my time. I want to paint the LEXUS gunmetal or a darker charcoal grey. Not a fan of the bright ass silver.Love those grills!! I'm getting so close to wanting one of those LEXUS grills (priorities)!!!
Just how long/hard is it to install?
Aren't they about about $150 claims?
I know others have posted links, but if it's handy, can you do it again?
Paint the LEXUS flat deep red. That'll look awesome on your black. It’s super easy to put on. I don’t remember the cost, hah. I know my short term memory is lacking these days.
Nope, zero issues with the front bumper.Paint the LEXUS flat deep red. That'll look awesome on your black.
Regarding mounting, so I assume no issues with the steel bumper not being in the way or causing headaches trying to get to fasteners?
I'm good for now. But I may take you up on that offer when I get around to purchasing one!Need me to take a pic close up so you can see it?
