I have been asked by a few guys about the amber LED grill lights I have and figured I should do a quick right up. Some people call them “raptor lights” others TRD pro 4runner lights. Either way, it adds a nice little bit of flare to the front end and is always a hit.

all you need is a couple Amber LEDS of your choice. Below is a link for the ones I like to use. A few zip ties. A drill. A some 12 or 14 gauge wire. And little bit of patience.

Step 1
is to remove the grill. In this case I was swapping back to the stock grill from the mesh style grill. I like the mesh style grill, but I think it was messing with my cruise control radar so I decided to switch it back.

step 2
is to drill a new hole on the LED light to be able to mount it on its bottom instead of its back.

step 3
once the lights all have these new holes adjacent to the existing Mounting holes get some blue tape and mock up the amber light location.
I typically like to do 3 lights in the upper quarter of the grill, but I have also seen people do only 2 or even 4 across.

Step 4.
Once you have your location. Drill a couple holes in the locations needed to line up with the LED light mounting holes and run a zip tie through for mounting.

Step 5
Wire it up! Easiest way is to tie into the parking lamps, but I like to tie them to an ignition source so that they are always on when the car is on day or night.

this is my first “write up”. So bare with me If I left any info out. I am constantly doing things to my trucks, but usually moving too fast to document things in an ideal fashion. Feel free to ask any questions or DM. Here’s a few more pics.

The 3 amber lights is a Raptor thing. I see 4Runner posers all around with that and cringe when I see it. I think it lame and would avoid it. My 2 cents.

thanks for sharing! Great work Carlos!

How are those lights holding up? Do you have a picture of how you tied them into the parking lights? Or I guess I could run them to an ignition on fuse.

Still good. No issues. Yeah I think I yied
Into an ignition wire because I like them on 💯 percent of
The time. Not just when the parking lights are on.
