Son is having problems with 99 LC in Cumberland, MD. He said feels like LC loses power as he drives and noise is coming from front of motor. Had him check to make sure not in 4 low, center diff not locked, has oil, antifreeze levels are okay. Normally maintained. May be tensioner or idler. Timing belt, wp, fan bracket, fan belt, tensioner and idlers all replaced within 30k miles and last 3 years. Any recommendations on shops would be appreciated.

Normally, would take care of it but I’m in Northern California and he is traveling back to Colorado form job interview in Va Beach.

update: 94SRUNNER, thank you for the info. He got up early and had a local service station mech take a look at it. Mech believed it was the CV axles. Mech topped off the front diff and told him to check the diff every 100-200 miles on his drive back to Colorado. My son said it is less noisy but will take it apart when he gets back to Ft. Collins. Thank you for the help.
