Good call on the JT outfitters kit. Looks like I need to do some adjusting and use the alternator for tension

Yes, that's it. Worst "bolt on" kit I've ever installed.

Hey Jim, what ever happened to that 72 that you had? Also, did you get the FJ45 back together? Just curious... This thing is nice! I hope it will make it out to Black Balsam this year so I can get a picture of it. I hate the "light" pin striping that occurs at that place...

Still have the 72. No idea what I will do with it...it's soooo far gone. I went out poking at it yesterday. So much sentimental value though being my grandfathers that he bought brand new. The fj45 is coming along. Just got the frame back from powdercoat a few weeks ago. Dad had hip replacement surgery so that is setting us back a little while. I bought an 8274 that I am refurbing for it so that can probably be a good easy project to do till he is back 100%. I'll get some updated pics here in the next day or so of it.

...yeah gotta bring a cruiser this year to black balsam since Yall are jeep racists hahaha

Hahaha. We'll figured out why it is such a bear to start. The p.o. Put an electric fuel pump in and wired it to the ignition so that it loses power while the starter is engaged. Turn it to acc and pump the pedal twice...fires right up. So I have that to address. Got the power steering hooked up. They had the set screw in backwards so it was NEVER ran in the last 13 years. Boy is it nice to have power steering in a 40. Now i need to find a return spring for the clutch fork so I can adjust the pedal to not release so darn late.

Looking for a drum brake hub body. Anybody have any around? The previous owner pressed some incorrect wheel studs in and ruined this hub.

Haven't posted in awhile. Installed new front hubs to fix the wallowed out lug nut holes. Also cleaned up all the wiring and hear shrunk the connections.

It had some terrible Californian emissions weber 32/36 so I replaced it with a new weber 38 and replaced all the fuel lines and fittings while I was at it. It runs GREAT now.

Also got my 33x10.50s and stock wheels/caps put on.

Will be installing this Bluetooth kicker setup this weekend so I can hide my audio and not cut the dash.

Looks great! You going to bring it to Black Balsam over the JK this year?

Haha that's the plan...although it is nice sleeping in the jk...

You can sleep in the 40. Just take the passenger seat out.

Gonna scratch it!

We need to get these old girls out in the woods where they belong.

If I ever get off my butt and and fix it we will do it. This jk has spoiled me too much. All the fun of the cruiser and it blows cold air in my face and rides good.

Got the tunes put in the 40. Ready to see how it sounds when I get my boxes back. I sent them off to get line x'ed so they match the floor and are weatherproof. I recessed the touchpad into the lower dash pad, and mounted the brain/amp to the firewall. As far as speakers I built boxes 4 inches deep and the same height as the fender wells to help them blend in the back and stay out of the way. Everything is Kicker.
