I pulled my flaps of a long time ago, but now that I live in this yuppie city I guess I'm getting hassled. I got a $100 tickets for no flaps/flares. I've got my stock flaps that i want to put back on, but don't have the mounting hardware. Anybody know the bolt sizes?

Check the wording of the law in your state. In AZ the law is only applies to trucks not station wagons.

8x20 oughta do it just fine.

Thats the usual over here in Australia...I live on the east coast (sunny Queensland) and was pulled over for a vehicle inspection. Mudflaps were on the list of defects (must cover width of tyre and be no more than 300mm from the road surface). But the most picky of all defects listed is the following.

*windscreen washers not in operational condition*.....this is 100% due to the fact that there was no water in the washer bottle. You reckon picking mudflaps is picky...hows my example for picky!?!?!?!?!

Hey guys, I'm in Bellevue WA. Just moved here a couple months ago from the east side of the state where i've never had any problems.

I'm searching online right now for the WA state laws on this....

It turns out ever motor vehicle have "spray guards" that extend the width of the tires and extend down to the centerline of the axle. This sucks.

Take a pic of another and present it in court. I have several stock photos for my truck and mustang without tinted windows.

do you mean take the photos to court and submit them as proof that the truck was fixed?

if so, excuse me for pointing out: man is that dumb.

and what is your excuse going to be the second time you get pulled over for not having the flaps?

you might also look up the word "perjury" before doing that.

typically the law isnt quite as stupid as you may like to think.

pardon me if i misread your suggestion but taken at face value its pretty, well...

and this is oz...

same thing happening right here in the good ole usa. too many law enforcement ppl with too little to do on their hands and lawyers that have won seats in the legislature writing all kinds of laws to promote the public good. law enforcement might try catching a few criminals once in a while and making sure the lawyers don't get those real criminals off the hook.

is it nuts to think that maybe the common man needs to take back control of his government? i, for one, am not running for election. it wouldn't hurt having someone with some common sense run for office instead of those with a vested interest making all of our laws and then profiting from finding a way around them.

rant over... thanx for the opportunity to vent.

also, looking for three mud flaps for my 86 fj60 for this very reason. need all except the rear passenger's side... pm me if you have some with no use for them. i almost had to have an ambulance called to the parts counter at the local toyota 'stealer' when i asked for his price for replacements.

Any body have a good pic of a mud-flapped wagon? Possibly gray in color?

Mother nature removed the rears for me... (rusted out bolt locations)
