Spent some time with Goss this morning. Mirror end cap was cleaned, painted and installed. Front door panels are built. 6.5" JBL speakers installed and wired to the dash. Cleaned, scuffed, and painted all door parts.

I'm getting old... can't get as much done in half a day anymore... :meh:

Happy New Year's J! Panels look awesome, ever thought of pulling the top cap off the OEM door panel and trying to replicate/attach to a new door panel?

G, Yes, I did that on Ole Blue (not Marley) years ago. I just really like the nostalgia of the metal top. Some say its too hot, but its what I like!

J

J, you may have covered this in Marley's build, but what do you use on the inside of the door to replace the felt window wiper from the top of the door cards?

Holy run on sentence JMan...

J, thought you were going to make two-tone panels for Goss?

A, I use a new OEM wiper belt. You just have to align the metal tabs with the holes on the inner door edge.

I was going to, but just don't like either red vinyl with the carpet. It is either too red or too maroon... So... BLACK IT IS!.

Rounded up some more panel clips for the back door panels. (THE GOOD/BAD about building a few of these cruisers..is the collection of unused parts from donor purchases.. AND YES I'M A PACKRAT!!) The cargo panels I build get speed nuts and screws, so I'm golden there.

I need to figure out the dog/cargo barrier mounting. I'd like to run this off of the seat release mount on each side and then the seat belt mounts in the floor. I think the top will be rigid enough not to have to install rivnuts in the top or upper sides to finish the install.

Also, the cargo/wheel well baskets will be displayed soon as well.

J

So for the dog barrier is the plan to run it so that it can be setup with the seat in the upright position or folded flat? You could always run rivnuts in the sides of the wheelwells down low allowing for a screw/bolt/whatever to attach the tall braces to the wheelweels and then another slotted piece to go into the rear seat mount latch.

I will build it where the top has a mesh screen and the bottom (behind the seat back) is open.(full mesh on request)

My idea is to try and use what is there so clients without mechanical skills/tools can install with simple hand tools. (YES, I understand in most guys world.. a Rivnut gun, drill etc.. is standard... ) BUT!!!! I have changed my mind on this stance since T-T has been in business and read the questions I have been asked....

OK GUYS... I NOW KNOW I HAVE A PROBLEM or do I ????????...........

FED EX just delivered a package to me... the box was Toyota Genuine Parts... For a few moments, I wondered... WHAT IS THIS!! DID I place that ToyotaPartsZone.com order... HMMM... ?????

HA! It was a new Milwaukee Drill I ordered off Ebay...

SO!!! It is my conclusion... I'M NOT THE ONE WITH THE PROBLEM... IT'S the Ebay seller that has SO MANY TOYOTA BOXES TO GET RID OF!!

So what you're saying is that you bought a Milwaukee Drill from Shane. HAH!

LOL.... well that is a good comparison on quality right there! Milwaukee and Toyota! Love the little M12 set my BIL got me for my bday, has been kick ass the entire time and batteries as still going on the original charge even after using it to put up some pegboard on the back wall of my garage for some organization.

I use the M18 tools. I go for my Milwaukee tools 99% of the time when working.

P, I'll take every set you come across.

Dude they make the Euro spec mirrors in a heated variety?!?!?! If you get multiple sets J I will be the first in line to grab one off your hands!

G, to my knowledge the Euro mirrors did not have heat as an available option. From our discussions, @TLC Norway is looking to add a different style of mirror that has a heat option, if I understood him correctly. FJC or similar with making housing modifications of course to fit the 60/62 body.

I was reading about adding a heat kit for Defender mirrors, not sure if it ever came to be or not. I think @woytovich was the one talking about the mod to FJ62 mirrors.

J

I was talking about modding the FJ62 mirrors but then I scored a set of the "Euro" mirrors... I cannot see a way to open them safely to install any heater elements so that project is on hold indefinitely.

I was going to use a set of motorcycle grip heaters attached to the backside of the glass to provide the heat...

Correct, no heated euro mirror.

I'm looking for 62 square style mirrors, which I seem to remember I could open. (?)
Then add a heater from the thumb gas from snowmobile. They're flexy 12v mats with 3m glue on.

Sorry for clogging your thread with my heated dreams.
