Think you need to drop that bar down just below the Toyota if you can. I am sure that you are probably trying to make room for the winch but I like for people to see what the badass machine that is behind them is!! LOL

Like the rack J... keep it simple and light but strong. Really wish I had the skills, tools, and space to do something like that as I would love a 2/3rd or 3/4 rack for BeBe.

WELL! Operation narrowed winch for the rear is going to be a reality.. I successfully narrowed the LP8500 SuperWinch enough to fit between the receiver hitch and the frame rail..

A few posts here to get through this 2 hour project..

Winch broken down..

Measure the distance needed to be removed and cut the drum..

Bevel back both cut sides of the drum tube..

Weld up... 4 weld passes to get this tube back together..

Grind down weld and smooth..

Next up cutting inner shaft and outer guide bars. Had to run to my buddies and gte him to spin these out on his lathe..

Rough fit up.. I'll need to spool up the cable and see how much I need to cut and re-climp on the drum.. I now have about 7/8" of clearance between the receiver and frame rail... Now just need to fab the mounting plate and skid plate.. Looks like it will drop below the bumper about 9/16" NOT TOO DAMN BAD IMO! Spool turn freely..
