could we have a few photos of where it mounts to the frame?

Reevesci,

Very nice work! I have to go back and catch up on your build. Wish my welds looked so good.

Ron, glad to see you slumming in the 60s section.. I need to catch up on your SLOW 71. Ever since I traded HAMP I have held back from playing/chatting in the piggie section. Though I did find a sweet '78 piggie last week.. I WANT IT!

Thanks for the welding compliment. Just starting to get my hand back in it again, been too long.

Since I've been spending so much time with and under Goss this week taking measurements, I got an idea on a poor man's U-Bolt clearance bracket. You will still be able to keep everything the same. Just change out the lower bracket and gain a couple inches of under axle clearance. I know there are some flip kits and whatnot out there, but I haven't seen anything like this. (if there is, I haven't seen it.)

I will get a set fabricated this week and get them installed for everyone to see and comment on. I plan on adding these to my things for sale in the near future.

J - what is the purpose of your lower bracket kit? Is this simply to add a few more inches between the ground and the axle housing or what? I need to crawl under BeBe soon as she has been neglected most of the year. Time for an oil change for her and I need to just bit the bullet and start welding in the patch panels.

Quick question regarding that, suggestions on easily accessible weld thru primer? And is it something that a newbie welder should really use?

Pics of rear bumper frame mounts please? :)

Yes, in a nutshell.. To give more ground clearance. I got busy on the front bumper and didn't get to these. Maybe this weekend. Wait a minute... it is the weekend for me..

I like the SEM copper weld primer. But, any decent name brand weld through primer will work Greg. Call me when you get a chance. I have a proposal I need to run by you.

Got as far as I could on my customers stuff today. I praised the local steel supplier and now I have B/O steel.... RAH.. :bang:

Anyhow, I got started on the front bumper today. I plan on shaving the wings a bit more to increase entry angles.

IMHO, front is too blocky right now. you need to/could match the wing angle work of the rear. Start bringing it up about 12-18" in from the end and then up sharply the last 1-2". If that made any sense...

Yeah, last pic shows the new lines I will cut and go from there. I may go up another .5" to 1" from there but that'll be it.

FWIW I like your chalk line angles mobetta. Enjoying your process!

I agree... I like the new lines better... I think I still have your number floating around somewhere I will give you a call after 5.

I'll give you a shout or an email later today.

MAYBE, MAYBE NOT.. HA!

**** yeah nice work man

Thanks Maat, hows your rig coming along?

I plan to cut the wings on my front today and get a few other shells cut and bent up for future. I'm at a stand still until my other tubing comes in.

Sounds good dude... Sorry got sidetracked with other stuff yesterday once I got home. By the time I remembered I was supposed to call you it was after 8pm.. Still very old school that I only call people after 8pm if they know that I am calling or it is an extreme emergency.
