Anyone know what the clearance is here? Wondering whether there's room for a board on the tailgate...

Clearance from baseplate to the tailgate when the tailgate is closed? Or clearance of a slide over a dropped tailgate?

When closed. From carpet surface to front of GG unit.

Youre LC hasn't burned to the ground yet?
Thank you for that useful and informative post. I'll treasure it, always, and look forward to your next helpful missive with great eagerness. More and more it seems, it's replies like yours that keep this site alive.

Seems your memory is slipping, Jay.
Not so much. I did explore your earlier advice, presumably well-intentioned--
From some of things I've seen you post. Don't. Hire someone.
--only to find that some of the guys who do wiring for a living are actually, shall we say, not entirely competent, despite charging hundreds per hour for the work. Perhaps they should spend less time on social media and more time actually wiring, or upgrading their skill sets. I'm not remotely competent to judge their work on my own, of course ("A man's got to know his limitations" and all that) but I know people who are. (Unfortunately they're not for hire.) Also, if I had enough cheddar for a downpayment on a house--I'd buy a house and not a wiring job. And so it's still looking like DIY (with professional guidance).

But, we digress.

I now return to my original thread, already in progress. Your cooperation is appreciated.

Very Jay response, worry more about buying a house and not fantasy mods.

Ditto, and thank you for another helpful, informative, and insightful post.
Moving on...
:smokin:

Without really even knowing what product you are talking about I will guess that the clearance is the width of the metal sill plate because that’s logical.

Is this what you need? Happened to drive it to work today so can get other pics. Btw, my tailgate has a 1/4” aluminum plate and then factory carpet on top.

Very helpful, thank you. I don't have the fridge slide, so won't have those tabs sticking out. Last photo--can you measure between the carpet surface and the closest part of the GG frame? I need a half inch or a little more. So if you've got more than 1/4 of space still left, I'm good. Thanks again!
