I have a 1997 TLC with a 1'' Lift. I am looking forward to getting a new set of tires, and hope to have some input from yall.

Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac VS BFGoodrich-Mud-Terrain T/A® KM2??

The stock size is 275 75 16. And what size can I get away with?
285 75 16
265 75 16

Thanks

I would say Duratracs, but again we don't your local or intended use.

Great Point....

I am in Las Vegas, and want to use the TLC for mostly off highway desert exploring.

I want to go to death valley soon, and would like to go back to moab area soon as well.

I put Duratracs on my LC recently. I had GY MTR's on before. Duratracs did great on my drive from Austin to Portland. Much quieter on the highway that the MTRs and did great in my afternoon in Moab and an evening driving the beach in Oregon. Only thing I am worried about is the sidewall living in Texas. I do a lot of driving on my ranch which has plenty of roots and sharp rocks to drive over.

The sidewalls on the Duratracs are quite weak...whether or not that could be an issue in the terrain you frequent is hard to say.

For Mud, no contest.

KM2's hands down with even better Mud performance out of the first gen KM's

However, for EVERYTHING ELSE (including low noise and overall smoothness), I say D-Tracs :)

I've had 305/70/16 BFG KM's and KM2's in the same size, but now I'm running 315/75/16 GY D-Tracs

We will see how they hold up. I have run MTR's exclusively on four different vehicles since 2004 without any flats. I would have gone with another set but for some reason they don't have a load range E in 315/75r16.

I've personally witnessed both a Duratrac sidewall tear and puncture in conditions where I would absolutely not have expected them.

how big is your lift?

will the 315s fit on the stock rims without rubbing?

Depends.

I fit 315 km/2 on a stock height LX450 and wheeled it for a couple years. Yes it did rub a bit when flexed out, and the left front corner would rub over speedbumps and when entering driveways at speed. But nothing serious. I also almost always ran close to empty, 3rd row removed, etc.

With OME 850/860 I don't get any rubbing at all.

2" MT spacers up front, 860 Mediums w/bags out back.

With all the extra weight (full rack, tools, bull bar front bumper, dual rear swing outs, front and rear winches, dual batts, etc., etc., etc.), I'm actually very close to the stock ride height.

They're mounted on the OEM 16" wheels without spacers and they don't rub unless fully flexed.
