Good Times with UC

An email conversation with another UC member today brought up a few memories of UC. I'll share one here. Feel free to do the same.

When JP was getting his blue 62 ready for sale several of us were at his house one Sat. Steve, Marshall and Chuck were lifting ME's 80 and David, David, Alan and I were installing a rear locker, cleaning and bleeding brakes on the 62. Several beers and slices of pizza later it was time to put everything back together. I installed the rear axle and wheel on the driver's side. Luckily, when Gundy and Alan came around to bleed the brakes, they noticed I didn't put the drum back on.

It was Marion's and I's first time at gulches. We were riding with steve in his fjc and steve was attempting to go inbetween two trees to get back to a trail.
Me: "steve, i dont think you have this, its kind of narrow"
Steve: "nah were good, we'll squeeze on through and if we get stuck, it'll just catch the sliders"
Well, we go on through and get a few feet through and then were pinned inbetween the two trees and hear a nice crunch.
Me: "ooohhhh, thats not good"
Steve: "nah, we probably just hit the front bumper, were all good"
We pull back out and pull off the trail and JP rides by in his 80.
JP: "steve, nice fender ding, when did that happen"
Steve: "what fender ding"
Steve hops out and the crunching metal side was his fender. It put a nice crease in it.

Something about GSMTR (2007?), alcohol, a whole large bag of Doritos, dancing, alcohol, White Trash of the Elwood Chapter momentarily 'borrowing' MetalTech's camera, then one heck of a morning, capped off by the Cuban's dip flipoff2 and Dan's eggs saving the day.

and then qouted two days later....

"I found a thong hanging on my mirror this morning. I have no recollection of what happened last night. Anyone want to fill me in?"

Lol I forgot all about the lug wrenchs. Some website had them posted wrong for something like 65 cents each. I think I bought a couple dozen of them. It took me a long time to give them all away so I started coming up with just about competition to hand one out.

UC working with power tools...

1. Eye protection- Che..Um no... He had a hat on does that count?

2. Gloves/Hand protection- Check, At one point, I am sure there were some on there

3. Fire Extinguisher- Surely Marshall has one of those... This is for when the heat from the friction ignites the PB Blaster to save the 55, not Steve, he should know to stop, drop, and roll DUH!!

4. GCEMS Ambulance on standby- possibly, there is a station in Mauldin along with Fire Dept. to put Steve out.

We are some safety minded fools!!!
