Good news for those able to Import and 80!

Forgive me if this has already been covered but I came across this and thoguth I'd post anyway. Looks as if you could get away with importing an 80 from Venezuela or elsewhere. Beuno Suerte!

thats 1997 info, if this is the case then jap(euro, SA, ect) spec 80's would have been brought in already I am SURE.

When i was on my vacation to Sydney ( Aus ), i seen those diesel equipped with Turbo from the factory.So is that mean all will be Turbo Diesel Equipped?

well, this says they are importable. You may still need to have them modified to meet a whole bunch of requirements, no? I never had the impression that these things were not importable, just not easily importable... Aren't people bringing them in from Canada already?

I will watch this thread hoping for some EPA/DOT info to pop up. There has to be many hoops to jump through, and they are expensive hoops.

I think one was(is?) on its way after Feb. of 2005, I think, thet just have to be exactly 15 (25 in the US) years or older, unless you have a letter from the manufacturer or you have crash tested 2 of the same make to prove that it's roadworthy.

Anyway...

If you want a diesel 80 series, you guys need to send a PM to drexx, I think his 80 series is for sale. I'm not trying to kiss his arse but just want to spread the info. I think he wants $35K for his rig that is already built up. Just my .02 cents.
