NICE 80!!!! oh and welcome to the 150 forum. It's lot quieter here compared to the 80's section.

Holy moly these things hold value well, still half the price of a new one with almost 100k and 7-8 years later. It actually makes owning a new one fairly "cheap".

Preciate it @Qball Haha, I wish I had an 80; that's just my 3rd Gen 4Runner (185) that's been overbuilt through the years!

my 460 originally came from park place and I got it 2nd owner from Sewell after a drive in from Louisiana.

you'll love the truck!

I don't have much faith in Lexus/Toyota leather but the condition of these seats are immaculate and I intend to keep it that way. I saw plenty of charred looking driver seats but the Semi-aniline leather has been well taken care of and was well detailed by Park Place Lexus in Grapevine.

I went back and forth between the base model and a Premium however after seeing this pop up on Cars.com and after getting detailed information and particulars from Park Place Lexus I decided to pull the trigger and purchase as a Christmas present to myself. Truly excited about this truck and can't wait to contribute and learn from you guys as I make this 'my 460!' I name my vehicles and this one I've named Kiichiro after Kiichiro Toyoda, the founder of Toyota Motor Company (that's him hanging out in my avatar space) and the son of Sakichi Toyoda, founder of Toyota Industries which gave birth to the entire Toyota group.

Also want to say a big thanks to @Acrad35751 for sharing with me the link to the Multi Terrain Select (MTS) module which I will be purchasing.

-Routine maintenance

-Third row delete

Did you do a straight axle swap up front on your 4R? Or is it a body lift? That thing is massively high!
Also, about the "SURF" on the side? Do you surf the great lakes? I've heard about it and even seen some video, but I don't think it can ever get as good as my back yard. (San Clemente):D

2" Body lift couple with the Toytec Boss up front. I need to downsize on my rear springs.

Haha! I'm just big on JDM and sourced a lot of parts to mimic a Japanese model Surf. And no I haven't had a chance to surf the Great Lakes yet lol!

Thanks, I'm really enjoying it so far. If more 5th Gen owners drove this thing there'd be less 5th Gens.

Couple of minor updates:
Unimod:

Working from home yesterday I definitely got a lot done on the truck and while I didn't get it all done I was pretty pleased with my progress. I did run into a bit of a hiccup on the secondary air intake when I removed the center screw (requires a 25 torx) and tried to release the cap. It was stuck! As I didn't want to risk damaging it I just tried twisting and turning with my hands but to no avail. In the end, and using some common sense I grabbed my hammer and pried up on the rim. It popped right off and upon inspection was still in great shape. There was some debris so I grabbed the shop vac and got it out before attaching the filter.

Prado Insignia lights:

Broke out the dremel and heater and started with my door lights. So I purchased a set of Prado insignia lights off of Yahoo Japan. Not sure why but they weren't a direct plug and play but using the dremel I was able to remove a piece of the plastic housing and install without issue.

Cladding:

Started removing cladding and whereas I was hoping for it to just be 3m and adhesive, unfortunately I'll now need to get the holes patched. Fun stuff. More parts should be here this week and hopefully suspension in the next month or so.

What is the top picture of with the air filter? is that the in cabin fan and filter, seat cooler fan?
What does that fan go to?

Thanks! Curious why there is a secondary air intake, especially since I have a snorkel. I'll have to check under my hood and see if I still have that. On this rig, I had someone else install the snorkel. I wonder if there can be water intrusion through that secondary intake?

Maybe I need an second snorkel!

 all joking aside I have read that some have ducted the secondary air injection intake into the airbox to keep water from getting into the pump. If you think about it the pump is only running upon startup and shut down of the vehicle. So if you aren't planning on starting while its submerged you should be good. I have done the filter mod just to take the risk out of it getting the media sucked into the intake. A buddy who has a 2011 and he just had one of his valves on the manifolds crap out on him and it put him into limp mode. This really bothers me... I would hate to be in the back country and have the system fail and disable the 4wd system and put the truck in limp. I have been talking with Hewitt and they should have a 2013-2014 option available for the SAIS bypass and pump removal system.

Thanks for the info HitchCrack! I will probably never submerge my rig to a depth where that would be able suck water. At least I would never do it intentionally! :crybaby:
If you can, keep us posted on that bypass mod. Even though I'm just cracking 44,000 miles on my rig, it is still five years old... I guess six years now that we're into 2019... And I know those type of foam filters don't degrade with miles but with age.

BTW, too bad Funky Town is so far form San Clemente, I think it'd be fun to do some wheel'n with you. Your sled looks great!

lol yeah we are definitely are not close to each other. I will let everyone know about the bypass kit once I hear from them. I want it so I can do a dual battery setup in the rig. Thanks for the compliments its been a work in progress for the last two years for sure.

Going a wee bit off post, since I was not able to find a dual battery case/bracket/?? for our GX's, I had Eric Hansen at YotaMasters fab one. He said it took about 3 tries for them to get it right but it looks good! Although I can only use the Odyssey PC1200 batteries, but those have been my battery of choice for my last three overland rigs anyways.

Looks good R2M, I am hoping to get two of the 34R-PC1500T. The Amp hours for each of your batteries is 42Ahr which gives you a total of 84Ahr for both if you were pulling off them at the same time. On the batteries I am wanting to use a single battery gives me 68Ahr each for a total of 136Ahr. Thats quite a difference. I am glad you were able to find a solution there are no drop in ready kits out there in the market right now.
