Hi, I just Joined. Purchased a used 2017 460 GX with Premium package that DAC Was thinking of adding MTS.
Wondering does MTS replace DAC ? Would I ever benefit from MTS and in what situation.

Also I have only 3 more options I want to add. Front camera or if possible a 360 camera system. Researching I see there are some options using Beat Sonic system that I am familiar with that FRAC system in my 18 Tundra.

The ads here made me start using Chrome with Ad blocker.

Crawl would replace DAC. DAC is a functionally limited Crawl.

Crawl pros: Can work uphill, also controls accelerator and variable speed

Yes. You can install either one of them without the other.
Only thing is that MTS is literally plug-n-play. Plug it in and you'll see it right away on your display.
CC, you'll have to reprogram or do some wire jumping. Not hard, but also not plug-n-play either.

If you want to know how to do the CC, follow 22Eynu35VO.
He has it down to a fine science (er... computer science, that is...) everything you need to know will be on this thread.

Sorry if this question has been asked: I have a 2020gx. Can I put the MTS in without crawl? I see the CC is looking like it’s a problem.

It would appear to be all or nothing on the 2020. The ECU for MTS in 10-19 is no longer present in 2020. It would appear all logic is now in the skid control ECU off of the master cylinder.

So, in short, if it didn't come with it, you can't add for 2020?

Not necessarily, but at some point GXOR20 (work listed further back in thread) or another '20+ owner will need complete the wiring that is missing from driver's kick panel to the skid control ECU in engine bay. It is still not known if logic is there in skid control ECU but is simply missing the wiring.... or both are missing.

I probably won't be messing with skid control ECU before a few long offroad trips and feeling the need for the CC or multi-terrain select.

The offroad package on the 2020 model is around 13~15k extra cash, I already spent that money on aftermarket offroad goodies... A/T tires, suspension lift kid, full skid plates, bumper, winch and... the list goes on...

You could always put an e-locker on it

what bumper brand ? Also what lift did you go with ?

I will create a build page for it soon. still waiting for my CBI's front bumper, rock slider, front and rear skid plates. and RCI's fuel tank skid plate.
Just installed my Icon stage 2 lift kit.

Let's not get too off topic please. o_O

How did you guys drive for 10 seconds on a straight away faster than 25 mph? 2am on a deserted highway or something?

Do you have to perform the zero point calibration in the middle of the road? Roads in FL are tilted a lot for the heavy rain run off what if I have to adjust to the left a little to stay on the road? Where did you find a flat straight road that was long enough?

How flat does it have to be to do the ZPC should I get my 6 foot level out? I'm not sure it's even possible to find a flat part of a road that has a long enough straight away given the tilt of the roads. This all leads me to thinks that you can do it in your garage, which ussually has a tilt when they pour it. Then drive out of your neighborhood (or out of a dealers garage in their case) until you find a straight away and go 25+ on a main non residential road through town.

ZPC is done while vehicle is stationary and flat. Your garage is fine. There is probably some residual calibration for ABS that occurs on the short 25MPH piece but crawl will be working at that point. The main effect you will see doing that last piece is your steering direction indicator in middle display cluster will go from having no wheels to showing up and working again. Same thing that happens after replacing battery. It doesn't need to happen the moment you leave the garage.. drive out of your neighborhood and find a place where you can just go straight over 25MPH for at least 10 seconds.

Yeah the paper clip sounds way easier at this point. I'm having trouble finding techstream on Amazon that has some good reviews and doesn't involve some company remoting in to my computer to install the cable drivers and software. Seems like an easy way to get thieves logged into my computer.

This is probably the most impressive mod I have ever seen documented and done to a car, except maybe auto start. Then again maybe people don't want to go off road like me. I wanted a Jeep with lockers and my wife wanted something nicer. Landcruiser was double the price of the gx460 but I have seen crawl control in crazy situations. It's like having lockers. But I digress

Suggestion:
Maybe update the OP with the location of the module. You tube had nothing except how to pop off the center console button panel. I saw a pic in this thread on maybe page 6 looking through the glove box hatch 9n the left and that's not even close. I knew I had to remove the glovebox, even then I was looking all over in there. Just didn't happen to look up. I was racking my brain and searching the internet for an hour. It was above the glove box hidden behind the upper trim/support - not behind it.

If it's in the OP then people won't have to read through 12 pages to see this post.

This CL thread has a good tutorial on adding MTS module behind glovebox.
