I may grow older but I refuse to grow up!
I'm going to replace my clutch and rear main seal this weekend. I have been reading posts and tech tips on the subject. I like the idea of using the PVC pipe and end cap to drive in the new rear main seal (posted by bsevans) I think I will go the route of opening up the tranny cover and using a cherry picker to lower the tranny/transfer case out to the ground. While I have the tranny/xfer case out I was thinking I would clean up the grime and give it a look over. BTW, the output shaft on the xfer case has been leaking, can I replace that seal like I would an engine rear main or would I have to open the whole case? Oh well the work this weekend will depend on how I feel (getting over the flu!) If I am healthy I will tackle the job. I'll post how it goes. Wish me luck
Oh How much should I expect to pay for a flywheel resurfacing and does anyone in the Portland Oregon area know a good place to take it to?
