Gonna Make This Sunday, 3 August a Raffle Truck Work Day

I heading over to Jeff's @Tikicruiser this Sunday to do some work on the Raffle truck, clean it up and get some pictures. I'm gonna bring some beer and make a fun day of it.

I encourage anyone that can spare a couple hours to come by and pitch in. I'll share my beer with anyone that can show and help out

@emorth : can you spare some time to get the idle solenoid wired up in preparation for getting the truck over to the muffler shop?

I can bring my trailer and load the truck up to transport to the muffler shop as well. @StaleAle can you schedule some time in the next 2 weeks to get it over to the muffler shop if I can load it up on the trailer?

Post up if you can make some time on Sunday. We need max participation to get this rig raffle ready!

You caught me on a Sunday I will be around. I can help drink some beer. Has anyone thought of turning the raffle truck into an FJ40 woodie? I can do that with my top notch carpentry skills. Happy to turn a few wrenches too with proper supervision.

Jeff and I washed the truck this afternoon. I took a few pictures with Kristin's fancy camera. She's coming over tomorrow night and we'll see if we can make them meet the specs that Todd wants for the ad. I have to get the pics to him by Saturday.

Ed and I are planning on knocking out the little bit of remaining wiring one evening this week. I'll make a start on the vacuum tubing as well so hopefully we'll have it running better by the end of the weekend.

Trailer and tug rig are in house ready to be borrowed. I have a bad trailer tire getting serviced today. Trailer should be back online tomorrow. We can arrange a tug to the muffler shop whenever.

Ed and I got the truck started and diagnosed a glitch with the wipers so electrical is looking good. I installed the remaining shock absorber so here is what remains:

- Tighten all lug nuts
- Check horns
- Clean-up and install the blower duct, screen and vent control (I am cleaning the ductwork and will drop it at Jeff's before the Sunday workday)
- Purchase and install a new choke control cable (the OEM ones we have are shot)
- Install the fasten seatbelts and brake indicator lights
- Plumb the vacuum tubing (diagrams are in the dash pocket, switching valves are in the box of emissions parts)
- Dig up two more wing nuts to hold the air cleaner cover (not sure of the size, maybe 5mm - 1.0?)
- Install tail light protective covers (may need to dig up six 6mm-1.0 or 8mm-1.25 x 16mm bolts, I didn't look too closely at the holes)
- Attach lower dash pads (need clips and stainless sheet metal screws)
- Attach roll bar pads (need sheet metal screws and small fender washers)
- Attach door frame L brackets that connect the hardtop to the windshield (needs four oval phillips head 6mm-1.0 x 20mm bolts)
- Install hardware on hood for windshield hold down (need to locate bracket, hooks and nuts and bolts, does anyone know where this stuff is?)
- Find and paint to match the correct sized wheel for the spare
- Install the steering stabilizer (not sure it's needed with the new power steering)
- Clean-off some excess weatherstripping sealant
- Fab and install exhaust (I will take the truck out to Murphy's if someone helps put it on a trailer, choke must be installed so we can drive on/drive off)
- Clean the floor pads
- Mount the fire extinguisher
- There is probably more little stuff....

Things to think about:
- Purchase and install a tachometer to fill the hole the PO made in the dash

So, everyone scour their spare parts stashes and see if they can dig some of these things up. If you have one of these things, we can discuss fair payment at Wednesday's meeting.

Solenoid is wired.

I found what I think is an OEM choke cable but it may be an earlier vintage than what you're looking for. It's about 2' long with a zig zag on the end to attach to the butterfly linkage.

I don't think anyone will be working tomorrow, but we will need to gather some more parts to finish the job and get it running smoothly for transport to the muffler shop.
