EDIT Solved truck is gone I gave it away after pulling some parts please don't PM me it's gone!!! EDIT
Well, sorry if this is posted in the wrong area, to be honest I'd like advice what to do with a rusty 94 FJ I have sitting in my back yard. For starters, I will proclaim I have title in my name and have owned it for 15+ years, it's not hot. But I need to keep the title and numbers for a second truck (I'll share details to the new owner). I'm not swapping VINs, that would be felony but I just use it to get plates, wrong plates is just a traffic ticket. (Both green FJ's) SO I can't give up the paperwork on 94 rusty.
Back in the spring I confirmed what I had always feared, my 169k mile 94 cruiser had a very rusty frame. The interior etc was great but the frame. Then I found truck #2, Arizona clean but no title, had been sitting baked paint, baked leather interior etc. Lifted on 33s and clean rims, a dream come true to save my rust bucket. I swapped interiors, dash, some doors etc but made one real nice lifted truck. I have exactly 1 complete leftover 94 land cruiser, runs and drives, but rusty frame and basically all of the take off parts from 2 trucks. And NO title to give away with it. Yes, I know there are laws out there that make some of this shady and I'm not looking for an accomplice. I don't have the space to take on a part out project right now, but I'd bet there is a thousand in good parts there considering the engine, trans and transfer case are all there and working. The body is good too, only visible rust is FR corner bottom of the fender. As it sits, the rusty truck is disassembled dash and interior. I will probably remove the VIN tag before I let the truck go.
Before this sounds too much like a classified advert, here are a few of my ideas:
A> Give the truck to an honorable guy with a handshake deal who promises to pay me 33% (+/-?) of his parts income as he strips it.
B>Spend hundreds of $$ and lots of hours to get a title on the AZ truck (not likely) Then sell it local legit parts truck on CL
C>Cherry pick the best parts (bumper, trim, etc) and give away the rest to someone who needs a FZFE driveline
D>sell it cheap to someone who will use it as a runabout in a campground or farm where plates and frame rigidity are not an issue.
Anyway, she was a great truck to us and I hate to see it go. Climbing up into the new one is quite a change!
Oh yea, pics.. The tall one is the keeper. (oh yea, she's locked!)
