Decided to replace the steering column in my 92 (had to replace upper bracket for ignition and thought replacing the whole shaft would be faster then messing with the tamper proof fasteners that retain the bracket) the donor column came from a 94. Problem is the spindle for the Upper shaft that connects to the tilt housing is a half inch shorter on the donor, meaning the mounting brackets won’t line up to reinstall the complete column. Is there any internal play to the upper shaft that I cant seem to pull or am I SOL and gunna have to drill the bracket off, tap new threads, find bolts and reuse the old column assembly?
