I'm planning on picking up my 100 on Friday,:bounce: I was wondering about upgrading headlights and tail lights. Is it just a plug and play process? If not, what parts are needed.
Thanks.

Thank you!

I have a 2000 LX470 and I am fine with the headlights on it I have always wondered about the Rear newer LED tail lights and this answers that question Thank you so very much! I am looking forward to this upgrade!

Is this a decent price on parts for the tail light retrofit?

Ok that's as good as I can find and I don't have to pay 10% tax or shipping so I am gonna go with it... Eventually lol maybe next month! Thanks for the great info tho!

I do have one other question slightly on topic how to you remove the tail lights, I am sure I am figure it out just never had to take them out I wouldn't even know how to quickly replace a bulb if needed haha.

Ya I saw the 2 screws and in did them for the outer part of the tail lights but it seems something else was holding them in? Now that you say it's just the 2 screws I am guessing maybe a clip and I did not pull hard enough? I always go with that theory till I find out I pulled too hard and broke something lol. I will check out the manual thanks! ;)

My manual does not show me how, it only indicates where the front and rear bulbs are and size lol? Am I missing something?

Owner's manual has about 10 pages on changing bulbs, very detailed instructions. Also, you can edit your posts and add new info rather than repeatedly posting after yourself.
1st Sweet thanks clearly I am blind!, 2nd also i did not see that option to edit previous post on the phone app. 3rd sorry to inconvenience you with questions I should know or know where to look to find the answers. 4th not everyone has a manual so maybe just maybe instead of the vagueness of the answer maybe a page number or a link or some type of reference would be more accommodating to those new members that may have the same questions and not have a manual? 5th I 100% agree with you if it was a conversation between me and you, but it's not it's a searchable topic from the entire internet so I thought we were all about helping each other along with assisting the web with our forums knowledge to maybe pull in more potential members? 6th I looked through every single page of the "2000 Lexus Owners Manual" it's its not in my manual sorry to inform you that I have the one manual on the planet that does not disclose how to but only the bulb info also it states in the manual if ANY bulb goes out go to the dealer! 7th now if you were talking about the shop manuals vol 1 or 2 then I was sent on a wild goose chase of scanning over and over the "owners manual" sorry for sounding like a ass and or over reacting but really? Why can't the admins be slightly more positive instead of coming off like dictating robots with no emotion? Anyways I will remember to do some better searching before I ask any questions here.

Ah thank you very much for the info! At my Toyota dealership according to them am getting 20% off cost so both of those links looks like they will give 25% so that would be a 5% savings but I would have to pay for shipping and tax? So it may not work that well but thank you! It's a great consideration if my dealer fails to follow through! ;)

Mostly plug and play with $1500

Here is a primer I put together http://tlcfaq.com/main/2012/05/face-lift-your-land-cruiser-100-series/

There are some additional detailed write ups on Mud.

I just noticed the lc and lx tail light design is different haha I am in the progress of trying to get the lx equivalent part numbers and such needed for lx owners such as myself. But it's also note worthy to point out that when doing this "retrofit" both xl and lc owners will have a choice of design with the tail lights! I will post part numbers and such when or if I am able to acquire them for the lx versions! Once again thank you for the effort you have put into this so far! I have been wondering about this swap for a while now! ;)

You are amazing! Haha thanks again!

I was looking on page 307 onwards in owner's manual from the 2004 file you can download for free here in the FAQ, that includes both the owners manual and the FSM volumes. Editing your post or using multi-quote keeps the forum clean and is still searchable by the entire interweb.

on my 99LC, once you remove those 2 screws you have to pull the taillight assembly sideways to get it off/away from the body. There are two pins that snap and secure it to the body. So you need to be pulling in the right direction or it won't come off.

Trunk, ok I am learning about this multi quote option as well and hopefully it works on this phone app, also sorry to inform you but the info I was searching for is not in my 2000lx manual as stated above also now that you stated its in the 2004 manual I will be checking there and thank you for the better informed answer. Fireball thank you for your more direct answer as well! Much appreciated!
