IN the lexus version of the manual it probably says see dealer :bang:

Yup is sure does! thats what was driving me up the wall last night i had several people look in there to make sure I am not crazy lol, On page 315 it states REPLACING LIGHT BULBS "The illustration on the following page shows the LOCATION of light bulbs. If necessary to replace a bulb, take your (Over Priced) vehicle to your (Over Priced) Lexus dealer as soon as possible. . And above my multi quote did not work correctly on the app maybe I did something wrong (Figured it out on the app!) . sometimes I wish i had "Toyota" emblem but then I look at my windows and "Toyota" is plastered all over them I am like yup its a Toyota with a extra button ;)

Thx for the links for the the toyota parts guys. I'm gonna do the same and get a few quotes.

Just checked my '99 owner's manual, same diagrams as in the '04 manual.
Lexus devision of Toyota assumes the owners have enough money to buy the Lexus badge ya gotta have enough to take it into a Lexus dealership to to have a 2 dollar bulb replaced! God forbid the owner break a fingernail with changing a bulb. (Never knew that was true till this case where the lc manual gives you direction on everything and lx manual tells you to take it to the dealer for anything!) my god how does a Lexus owner pump gas on there own! LoL

CEO714, Retrofit 2006 LX tail lights onto a 2000 LX? I'm not sure but you might want to triple check that before ordering.

Why would it be different than the land cruiser? I am curious now?

I found the 2000 LX manual online. Lo and behold . . .

That's really kinda sad.

Can anyone confirm if I would have a issue with this swap? Hoser has me a little concerned now. But everything I am reading it should be fine as long as I have the parts? Same as the lc correct? I can't see how they would or did change much from the lc to the lx other than design of the tail lights? Thanks in advance!

The two tailgate lamps are a different shape on the 03-07 LX. You can buy aftermarket 06-07 "style" tail lamps for the 98-02 but quality is questionable since there are several different manufacturers. If you were a stickler for OEM quality lights, then you would need to get the 03-07 tail gate.

So they changed the rear gate on the lx but not the lc?

Yes.

Tip: No need to quote the post immediately preceding your reply.

Ok how about this scenario , was the lx and lc identically the same from 98-2002? Reason I ask is if that's the case even tho they are slightly different in design the 06-07 Oem led lc tails would work right? That's assuming they were both the same in the early years? Thank you in advance ;)

98-02 LC & LX had different tail gates and the inner tail lamps had a different shape. Your best bet is aftermarket.

That's so lame but at least I did not blow 600 bucks haha thanks for the info ;)

Mostly plug and play with $1500

Here is a primer I put together Face Lift Your Land Cruiser 100 Series - http://tlcfaq.com/main/2012/05/face-lift-your-land-cruiser-100-series/

There are some additional detailed write ups on Mud.
Hey mate I’m currently going through the same process. Sort of confused if the wiring harness I have to buy is for the inner tailgate lights or the rear quarter lights. The set I bought plugged straight in but I’m not getting power to the lights in the tailgate. Is it because the new lights only have two pin plug
